Chicago/ALA was a great high-energy conference. It was so good to see so many longtime friends and make new ones. Is it really already the end of July? This fall issue features books publishing August-November, with a few December titles.

This is a great time to look at travel and adventure titles to begin the 2024 travel plans. It is also a fun time to read really good debut, psychological, and mystery titles. Check out Zadie Smith’s new book The Fraud, or Halle Hill's Good Women—both already received starred reviews. Scott Shane's Flee North (another starred review) gives us a glimpse at the life of the extraordinary abolitionist, liberator, and writer Thomas Smallwood. Don't miss the full list of self-care and relationship titles; insightful topics range from the beginning of life to motherhood, creating strong bonds, health, love, separation, and grief. All titles are hand-selected by our collection development team and feature familiar and new voices.

The importance of books, reading, learning, and traveling to many places through a story is as important today as ever. Stories and voices remain critical to conveying and understanding our shared differences, similarities, and experiences.

Enjoy!
