If you are thinking about buying a new bike then you there are a few things you should think about. Those things include the purpose of your bike, your skill levels, and additional components or needs you might want for your bike. These things will make a difference when you purchase a road bike. When you purchase a road bike you need to be clear on the purpose of your bike. There are many different types of road bikes like touring, racing, off-road and trail, and more. If you are a racer then you must invest in a top level bike. If you are looking for a good racing bike then you want it to be as light as possible. This is because a heavier bike is harder to get at faster speeds and they will slow you down. This means a lightweight frame and as little accessories on the bike as possible. If you plan on having a bike for the trails, steep up hill and down hill climbs then you will need a bike that has an excellent suspension system with good shocks to absorb the rough terrain you will be riding on. If you are looking for a touring bike then you are going to want a bike that is the most comfortable for long rides. You might want the most comfortable seat you can find because you will be riding for long periods at a time. You also might want a set of front shocks to provide for the smoothest ride possible. Your skill level is very important when you consider bikes to buy too. If you are not a skilled rider then you most likely won't want to get all of the accessories for tricks and affects. If you are a new rider you might want to get a low level bike that will give you the opportunity to learn on. As you get better then you can upgrade your bike. In addition, a low or mid-level bike is a good idea because they are a lower price. You don't want to spend a ton of money on a new bike if you decide you don't like the sport. There are many accessories you might want to add to your bike like a water bottle holder, special handlebars and grips, and special pedals and more. Pedals are not the same on all bikes. For instance, for a rider that does tricks and rides standing quite a bit then you will want pedals that catch to the bottoms of your shoes better. So before you make your purchase, ask other people that are into biking what they recommend. Go to bike shops and ask the owners or bike technicians what they feel is best for you. Bikes come in many different price ranges so there will be a bike for every budget. The more serious you plan on taking your biking, the more expensive the bike will be. As you can see there are many things you should think about when you purchase a new bike. You

need to consider your skill level and the different purposes you will use your bike for. You need to think about if you will be on your bike for long or short rides and the different types of terrain you will be riding on. All of these things will make a big difference when you purchase a new bike. Do your research and you will get better enjoyment out of your new recreation and/or sport.
