Serbian Choral Association 3 PROJECTS • Conductors’ Choir • Youth Choral Festival • Digitalization of Serbian choral music

The Conductors’ Choir of the SCA • Founded during sight-reading sessions at general assemblies of the SCA and various festivals, where groups of conductors were present;

• At the General Assembly of SCA in 2019 conductors expressed their wish to raise the level of work and performance and rehearse more often

• An elaboration of this idea is done this year, including the mission and vision of the

Conductor’s Choir; the main idea is to perform less-performed and technically/musically demanding Serbian choral music, that amateur choir cannot perform.

• To record and publish choral music. • To enable conductors, who mainly stand in front of their singers, to sing and perform also. • To support and motivate conductors from different choir levels and genres for mutual cooperation and individual improvement

• The first 3-day session of the Conductors’ Choir was held in October 2020, a lot of

rehearsing time, but also a lot of fun and an opportunity to relax in these hard times of the pandemics.

Youth Choral Festivals 2018, 2019, 2020 • One-day or two-days festivals each year in autumn; • Gather as many young singers (15-25 years) in a large choir; • Promote Open singing - experienced singers rehearse and

perform together with young people who sing for the first time, as well as the audience;

• Motivate young people to join choirs and understand the values of choral singing.

“Do you have the strength to be but a link in a chain?

Digitalization of Serbian choral music • A new and still unfinished project, inspired by the (choral) isolation due to the Covid pandemic, but also trying to support and encourage amateur and beginner singers to learn the repertoire quickly;

• Recording educational audio/video files, each part separately, with the accompaniment (sound) of the score;

• Files are being posted on YouTube, channel of the Serbian Choral Association; 2 compositions posted so far, the Latin alphabet still needs to be added;

• Two levels, which make the learning process more interesting and more fun: 1. learn your part singing with the score sound

• 2. sing with quartet SATB • Great motivation for amateurs to join choirs and endure in choral music. A great help to conductors.
