A Choral Flame
• Started in the context of Flanders as host of the World Choir Games 2020 • cfr. Olympic flame • Travels between big and small choral events • Journey through Flanders, also Brussels & Wallonia • 50 events were selected • Official ‘lighting’ of the flame by minister Zual Demir
Meaning of the Choral Flame
• Focus on projects/events that (re)connect people through music • Projects reaching out to : • children and/or elderly people • vulnerable target groups • people in need of a way to (re-)connect with their environment
• Message = Singing together connects people => Sing Together Share Happiness
Purpose of the Choral Flame
• Get to know more social singing projects • Build more personal connection with these projects • Show appreciation • Help them find more attention for their project • Inspire people with good practices both within and outside the choral network • Connect individual project enthusiasts with each other

How did it work?
• Koorvlam logo for posters, flyer, facebook,… • Each event connects strongly to previous one and following one: • Flame is physically handed over from event to event • Who brings the flame, can bring something to present own event (movie, pictures, song) • Organizers are stimulated to work something out together
• ‘Flame ceremony’ @ each selected event • Flame is brought in on the music of an Official Song • Official Song connects all participants of all events
