Did You Know? • The University of Bridgeport women’s gymnastics team has won the last four USA Gymnastics Collegiate National Championships. • UB men’s swimming team took ninth place at the 2012 NCAA Division II National Championship Meet. • The Bridgeport women’s volleyball team won the school’s firstever NCAA Division II East Regional Title in the fall of 2011 and has now made four straight appearances in the regional final. • The UB men’s soccer team has made 10 consecutive conference tournament appearances, and the Bridgeport women’s soccer team has made five straight NCAA Division II Championship Tournament trips.

Did You Know? • Dowling’s men’s lacrosse team won the first National Championship in program history and second in school history (men’s soccer, 2006) in 2012. • Dowling’s women’s soccer team advanced to the Round of 16 in the NCAA Tournament for the first time in program history this season.

About Dowling Founded in 1955 as part of Adelphi University’s Suffolk Campus, the college purchased the former W.K. Vanderbilt estate in Oakdale in 1962. In 1968 the college was renamed after its chief benefactor, Robert Dowling, a noted city planner and aviator. Situated on the banks of the Connetquot River on a former Vanderbilt estate, Dowling’s Rudolph Campus in Oakdale is among the nation’s most beautiful. The 105-acre Brookhaven Center is located on William Floyd Parkway in Shirley and features high-tech learning facilities for a broad range of undergraduate and graduate courses. Located within walking distance to the Long Island Rail Road and featuring free parking and shuttle bus service, Dowling is easily accessible from both Suffolk and Nassau counties, as well as the five boroughs of New York City.

•The Molloy College men’s indoor track and field team won the first-ever East Coast Conference Indoor Track and Field Championship. The Lions accumulated a total of 163 points at the meet. • The Molloy College men’s basketball team shattered a pair of school records in 201213. The Lions bested the all-time marks for consecutive victories, and most wins, in a single season. • Freshman Conor Gallagher of the Molloy College men’s cross country team was tabbed as the East Coast Conference Rookie of the Year. He aided the Lions to a secondplace showing at the ECC Championships, running an eighth-place time of 26:42.90 in the 8k at LIU Post. • In 2012, the Molloy College softball team reigned supreme in the ECC for the second year in a row, with a 6-0 victory against Dowling College. Juniors Haley Calderwood and Kelley Jansen brought home Co-Most Outstanding Player Honors for their efforts in the tournament. •Freshman Stephanie Meyer of the Molloy College women’s track and field team became the program’s first-ever national qualifier at the 2012 NCAA Division II Indoor Championships. She recorded a 14th-place showing in the long jump in Mankato, Minn., with a leap of 5.77 meters.

• Men’s basketball seniors Kayvon Roberts and Dominic Scurry became the most recent Bears to join the 1,000 point club. Scurry’s came on the road at Queens (Jan. 30) and Roberts’ happened against Roberts Wesleyan (Feb. 2). • With the Bears’ 65-62 victory over LIU Post, NYIT swept the annual “Battle of the Boulevard” and earned the program’s 550th victory. It was the first time since the 1999-2000 season that NYIT swept the season series with LIU Post. • NYIT opened the season with a convincing 81-71 victory over then-No. 14/21 Bloomfield.
