• The University of Bridgeport women’s gymnastics team has won the last five USA Gymnastics Collegiate National Championships. • UB men’s swimming team took ninth place at the 2012 NCAA Division II National Championship Meet. • The Bridgeport women’s volleyball team won the school’s first-ever NCAA Division II East Regional Title in the fall of 2011 and has now made four straight appearances in the regional final. • The UB men’s soccer team has made 11 consecutive conference tournament appearances.

About Dowling
Founded in 1955 as part of Adelphi University’s Suffolk Campus, the college purchased the former W.K. Vanderbilt estate in Oakdale in 1962. In 1968 the college was renamed after its chief benefactor, Robert Dowling, a noted city planner and aviator. Situated on the banks of the Connetquot River on a former Vanderbilt estate, Dowling’s Rudolph Campus in Oakdale is among the nation’s most beautiful. The 105-acre Brookhaven Center is located on William Floyd Parkway in Shirley and features high-tech learning facilities for a broad range of undergraduate and graduate courses. Located within walking distance to the Long Island Rail Road and featuring free parking and shuttle bus service, Dowling is easily accessible from both Suffolk and Nassau counties, as well as the five boroughs of New York City.
