Design principles which include the significance of craftsmanship, composition, proportioning, design elements and requires students to design a 1:1 scale buildable product

Introduces students to case study and anthropometric study and requires students to design a buildable structure on an open or flat land for up to two persons' use on an area of 3x3 metres.

Introduces students to basic site analysis, design intention, quality of space and space planning and requires students to design a one to two storey dwelling on an open or flat land for up to four persons' use within 100sqm.

Introduces students to comprehensive site analysis and design response design and requires students to design a two storey public building using specific materials and construction on an open or minimal contour land for up to 30-40 persons' use within 300 - 350sqm.

Introduction to Design Principles

'PLAY' OF SHAPES INDIVIDUAL - EXPLORATION MODEL

CLO 01

Acquire knowledge of design elements

CLO 02

Choose appropriate drawing to express design elements

CLO 03

Indicate understanding of design elements

Based on the shapes used in Task P3T1, students to produce 9 SERIES OF EXPLORATION - 20X20cm squares model. Starting from point and line, plane and volume, figure ground studies and to the transformation of form
