ALEXANDRIAart guildA non-profit organization of visual safe pottery high-fired in a artists in the Alexandria lakes area, soda kiln in unique forms. the Alexandria Art Guild was formed ARTHOUSE • Shirlee in 2018 to help create a sense of community among area artists and bring more visibility and unity to Alexandria’s art scene. The group is not restricted to actual artists but also welcomes art supporters, holds monthly meetings, plans art events and publishes a directory of local artists. This group organizes the annual Art deTour, a self-guided driving tour of Alexandria area artist studios offering sales direct to the tour-goer. ART DETOUR Art deTour is a multi-location weekend art tour with two or more artists at each location. Along with their art for sale, many artists will be demonstrating their craft. There is no charge to attend the tour. Along with hand-crafted jewelry, the Art DeTour will include art glass, mixed media works, paintings, pottery, wood, photography, fiber art and drawings. This year’s Art deTour will be held Friday-Sunday, June 18-20. For more information on specific locations and times, vist alexart.org closer to the event. JD JOHNSON CREATIVE SERVICES • Surf inspired art including resin, acrylic, oil, mixed media, and photography. KATHERINE BOCKELMANN FINE ARTS • Portraits and drawings of nature in graphite and charcoal. ART BY MELISSA • Melissa Werpy: Wheel thrown and hand-built pottery with colorful imagery; and pastel, acrylic, oil paintings. STEVE KING • Stained glass art and functional pieces. POTTERSMITHS • Kate Smith’s beautiful, durable, food safe, porcelain and stoneware for daily enjoyment. Phil Smith makes whimsical, functional pottery. BARBARA JOHNSON • Wildlife, nature, and travel photography; prints and functional items. CHANDA KRAFT ART & DESIGN • Paintings in oil or watercolor and drawings of landscapes and nature. WOLF RUN POTTERY • Emily Wolf: Hand-built or wheel thrown functional pottery with dipped glazes. THREE HAVENS ARTWORKS • Linda Gaugert: Oil, acrylic, watercolor, mixed media, landscapes, home portraits paintings, more. Busy Squirrel Creations • Matt Bakke: Woodwork including turned bowls, art pieces, and wooden games. Donna Dean • Watercolor, multimedia collage, clay, hand-dyed and beaded silk scarves, and seed bead jewelry. ARTSCAPE STUDIO • Kathy Grundei: Watercolor painting, collage, botanical art, journals and cards. CANE TOAD STUDIO • Leanne Larson: Original oil paintings, live wedding day paintings done on site. HANDCRAFTED BY NONI • Naomi Bjorklund: Oil portrait, landscape, and floral paintings. Colorful, handmade enamel jewelry. TURNING LAKE DESIGNS • Bill Seykora wood turned bowls, colored pencil Lazy Susans, Charcuterie boards, and more. Merodie (Mimi) Seykora stoneware, Raku pottery, and jewelry. SONG OF RUTH • Ruth Hanson: Watercolor batik, watercolor and gouache, oil pastel, acrylic, and calligraphy. Prints/cards available.
