Begun in 2018 by Quincy Roers, Fire Pit Production uses the stage at the Lakes Area Theatre for small production plays and provides the community with edgy Shows will be performed outdoors, weather permitting, with drive-in style theater parking and radio broadcasting available. In the summer, shows are performed outdoors, so bring a lawn chair. Tickets are $10 and are available at the door one hour prior to show time.
Next up on the schedule is Run for Your Wife, from the play by Ray Cooney.
A hilarious British comedy, Run for Your Wife is the story of John Smith, a London cab driver with two separate lives and two different wives in different areas of the city. Smith is able to juggle his two different lives without arousing suspicion because of his irregular schedule.
When Smith intervenes in a mugging, he is hit on the head and ends up in a hospital, upsetting his precise work schedule and causing complications that bring the wrong wife to his bedside. Opening in October 2010, Lakes Area Theatre has entertained audiences, both live and on the radio, for more than five years, bringing to life mysteries, comedies, detective stories, suspense, drama and westerns.
Lakes Area Theatre performs its shows before a live audience, recording the shows and playing them back on KXRA 1490 AM and from a network of radio stations.
Performed live every second Friday of the month at 7 p.m., the Lakes Area Theatre troupe is a group of dedicated regional writers, directors, voice actors, musicians, sound effects technicians and recording engineers, all combining their talents to bring you family-friendly and affordable entertainment.
