MODERN VILLAGES A way forward for their advancement.

A lot of time whilst viewing a Hollywood Film, it has been witnessed that the story takes place in a small town whose name is unheard of in almost every other part of the world. Yet, the people projected in these areas are clean and technologically advanced. Their levels of knowledge is in coherence with the big city folk and there also seems to be no discounts on the sophistication levels. Indian People also aspire such ‘suburbs’ in these times. However when someone mentions the words Indian and Village together , it conjures up an image of cowdung plates of walls, houses made of hay and children running around in muddy clothes. The new India either you call it
Modi’s India or India 2015 or the India of the startup generation is the ultimate evidence of the progress that the country has made on the economic front. Coming back to the point, Villages in India are not what we or the world thinks. When asked to write the article, the topic had me bamboozled. A model village? Did it mean the old deluded vision that the CBSE textbooks portray or is that a imagined reality stuck in the mind of an old man who will have Google Doodle dedicated to him on his 104th Birthday. The tenets of a successful community are finance and education. With the advent of financial inclusion, Make In India and constant efforts towards pushing up the literacy rates, India is on the path of progress. November 2015
Like the world, the villages have gone smart. Take Punsari as an example, the school principal uses his iPhone to keep surveillance on the school and monitor school activity. The vision is to encourage migration from outside India as it has been happening in Tier-A cities like Gurgaon or South Bombay. Another key takeaway is the collective pride that comes with it. People of Punsari beam with pride when they exclaim that they have been awarded the “Best Village in Gujurat. Our Prime Minister Modi has taken an initiative and launched Saansad Adarsh Gram Yojana where all the MPs will be adopting villages and building them as exemplary one.He has given each MP to develop atleast one model village by 2019 using their resources. Recently Prime Minister made a statement that 18000 villages which are not connected to electricity will get basic facility within next 1000 days. Government of India is going to harness solar, wind and renewable energy to generate 175 gigawatts of power one day, which will help their goal of providing 24hour electricity The Ecobizz Newsletter
all over the country by year 2019. Our Union Rural Development Minister promised that every village in the country will be connected with roads. In a major boost to this initiative the government has laid down 90,000 kms of optical fibre network for high speed broadband connection, covering about 68,000 village panchayats till date which will really help in advancement of villages Steps taken by the present government are going the right way but implementation of all these steps are very essential and hope to see a change in the villages and their lifestyle.

n an organisation some people experience their work as experience, while others experience work as meaningless. One thing is certain-work is an important part of our lives.More than that what activities can organisation implement to add more value to their employee’s lives.Organisational team sport can be considered as such an activity to implement. This will help to explore possible benefits of organisational team sports activities in organisations. It basically improves individual commitment because it requires the participant to remain focused on specific goals. Commitment causes participants to organise their behaviour according to a specific programme which requires strict exercise programme and diet ,which requires sacrifice. In the same way team sports can also act as a stress reliever for students while they are doing competitive master’s programmes. It helps students to develop a healthy sense of competition

within a friendly,team-oriented environment.Additionally the social interaction gained through sports teaches students to work with a team ,solve inter personal conflicts and communicate in an effective manner with others. With same purpose in mind we at Ecobizz club wants to start a campaign for Sports where we every weekend play different kind of sports as a competition between juniors and seniors which will help us to cope better with competition in other areas of our lives. We can handle difficult situations and disappointments with more maturity and professionalism. We have made a start and we hope more and more students continue this saga.

Be disciplined, and work hard. Not even the most gifted athlete in the world could achieve great heights without an honest effort and hard work.
4
Celebrate your achievements. There is nothing like achieving something you have worked hard for ,even if it seems small to others.
5
Look for a mentor. Elite athletes almost never coach themselves, even if they have the knowledge to do so. Why? Because they need someone who can be a bit removed and see things with more clarity and less of the personal blindness we all have about ourselves.

Be aware you are setting an example, so set the right one. There are always people looking at you. Your example is important and can make a difference in their lives

“MUTUAL FUND ” 13 THROUGH E-COMMERCE
IBS HYDERABAD
E-COMMERCE PLATFORM A NEW BEGINNING FOR MUTUAL FUND Now will be sold on E-commerce platforms.
Siddharth Dash Batch of 2017
14
MUTUAL FUND NOW THROUGH E-COMMERCE PLATFORMS The Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi), the Indian Government entity that regulates market, is on the verge of finalising guidelines for the sale of mutual funds on ecommerce platforms. The entity is also planning to implement know-yourclient (KYC) procedure online, to simplify the process for mutual fund investors and attract wider number of customers. This would now allow the likes of Flipkart, Snapdeal and other online marketplaces to sell financial products on their market,
which have so far been the domain of brokers and banks. As per the source, the new guidelines could be rolled out as early as January 2016. Sources report, that SEBI chief U K Sinha met Nandan Nilekani, who is heading a committee set up to suggest steps to reduce cost structure of mutual funds, as well as representatives of ecommerce companies such as Flipkart, Scripbox, FundsIndia. com and Paisabazar.com in Bengaluru last month to discuss. SEBI is likely to allow the sale of balanced and exchange-traded funds on the ecommerce platforms to start with as it November 2015
wants to first gauge the customer response. If the experiment is a success, the ecommerce model could be employed for selling more financial products as well. The commission to be charged by ecommerce firms is expected to be in the vicinity of 0.5 percent. When investors buy mutual funds directly from fund houses, there is no commission imposed. However, when they buy mutual fund through third-party distributors and financial advisers, a commission of around 1 percent is imposed. E-commerce firms might find their edge there. Mis-selling provisions, which are used to prevent agents and distributors from The Ecobizz Newsletter
misleading unsuspecting customers about the characteristics of products, too are unlikely to come in the way of fund sales through ecommerce platforms. The guidelines are coming up at a time when ecommerce is making tremendous progress in India as people from small towns to metros are increasingly going online to purchase products across all categories. This report also comes amid a rather favourable legal environment for e-commerce brands, which includes a recent Delhi HC’s refusal to pass any interim order against e-commerce companies. A number of fund houses are
already focusing on ‘direct plan’ mode to sell their schemes, a move that may maximise the returns for the investors as against regular plans involving distributors. Noting increase in use of e-commerce platform and low penetration of mutual fund products in the country, Sebi chairman UK Sinha said “the regulator has set up a committee under Nandan Nilekani which has had three rounds of meeting already”, to suggest ways for boosting mutual fund industry. This is also due to increasing internet coverage and awareness, which will help fund houses to penetrate more markets in small cities and towns at lower costs.
SEBI is likely to allow the sale of balanced and exchangetraded funds on the ecommerce platforms.’’

IBS MUN was profoundly meaningful and inspiring one.
A LOOKBACK AT IBS MUN
“A first of its kind, with many to come” The stage was set. The Posters were made. The Model UN was about to get an IBS-H makeover. An elated set of members of Club Ecobizz was to host more than a 100 delegates which would frame the future of the world as we know it. IBS MUN presented a unique opportunity for students to meet, discuss and collaborate with equally motivated and talented peers on a diverse array of topics, and for many delegates it was a profoundly meaningful and inspirational experience. It is a global learning platform for participants of IBS MUN and it was surely an educational and inspiring one. At IBS MUN 2015, each delegate will partake in a simulation of the United Nations or another international body and gain better insight into the subtleties of international affairs. There were three councils, namely – General Assembly, Economic & Social Council and Security Council. Students became Delegates. There were delegates ranging from 1725 years of age. The first day saw of the MUN Conference was more about addressing the delegates and acquainting them with the intricacies of MUN Procedure. Next two days were all about debating and lobbying where delegates were asked to be added The Ecobizz Newsletter
to the speakers list by the chairs. Delegates then took turns to address the committee following the order on the list. They were told to introduce their nation’s stance and back it up with substantive arguments. Delegates were also free to move around to engage in informal discussion with each other. This is also when delegates craft their resolutions and work on merging of resolution. As the debate progressed, delegates had to collaborate and jointly craft a resolution. Moderated Caucus followed by Unmoderated Caucus sprinkled with GSL which had a few choice couplets from the delegates. There were also a few flirtatious chits which are a mainstay for light hearted yet humorous moments at MUN Conferences The last day saw the delegates face off a crisis which could not be averted had it not been for some Machiavellian politics. Resolutions were also tabled but only a few point was discussed which did not solidify into a solution due to the crisis arising suddenly. The Delegate of Palestine was heavily influential in the conflict resolution which was futile in the end. USA and Russia had locked horns which would have led to an imminent war on a global scale.

There were three councils, namely – General Assembly, Economic & Social Council and Security Council. Students became Delegates . There were delegates ranging from 17-25 years of age.
The Afghani Delegates performed the Attan – their national dance and played their national anthem which was greeted with a loud cheer from all the people present inside the auditorium besides putting a huge smile on the faces of all the attendees. Some remarked that the Attan was very similar to the Garba, this familiarity led to a very unusual admiration for the overall performance. A 17 Year Old Delegate of Belarus won the runners up in the General Assembly while Osmania University student Prithvi was the winner of Best Delegate- GA as Delegate of DPRK.

It was a real sight to see young budding politicians of IBS Hyderabad in their true colours.
EB WEEK FUN BEGINS NOW
“Arrival of the most awaited event of the year”. Members of EB KHOJ- the research wing of Club Ecobizz were drilled with information throughout the first semester. The challenge was set to them to organize an intellectual fiesta for not one but two whole days. The Khoj team was up to the task provided with some extra help from all the members of club ecobizz and the event was nothing but historical. Historical for the right reasons. The event hosted a total of 16 teams featuring two teams from The Freedom Club. The first round was soon rolled out. The teams were tasked with a various set of scenarios. There were 12 Questions in total. Teams had to mark on of the four options and subsequently justify their option in front of the committee of judges. Counter Questions were fired. Some teams survived the grilling by the esteemed panel of judges comprising of Sidhhart Khushwaha, Bharat Subhra and Sunny Bose (also the chair for the inaugural IBSMUN). There were a few fictional scenarios which were pulled straight out of reality with the anchor cheekily coining the term ‘Ratgate’for the KFC Fried Rat Controversy. With this Day 1 of Aavardhan came to an end. Day 2 and the day of reckoning. There The Ecobizz Newsletter
was the TIC TAC TOE round which led to the elimination of 9 teams. 7 teams were left and then they were asked the ultimate question. They were allotted different ministries of Burakas and were told to come up with the solution regarding Syrian refugee’s crisis. The country of Burakas was located in the Eurasian territory. Ironically the executive ministry consisting of President and Prime minister stayed awfully quiet. The defense and finance ministries were fired up in their opinions and rejected the notion of taking the Syrian refugees in their country. Each of the ministries had to come to a consensus but in the end it was not to happen. Finally ministries were given the opportunity to sum up their arguments. On completion of this round these esteemed ministers transformed back into normal IBS-H students. The names of the winners were going to be announced on the last day of the EB Week. As the date arrived, the junior ECOBITES awaited there turn with destiny. They had to now take the club forward. The EB Week was in full flow with the opening ceremony and the first event named “Aavardhan”, concluding successfully and well appreciated.

The next event was just about to begin with a few hours on the clock. Anxious, nail biting moments were spent in the respective classes!!! Finally the hour had arrived and participants from 17 different clubs as well as 3 teams of the free hearts had arrived. All preparations were set in place and thus begun the “Rajneeti within the 20 different teams or should i say political parties competing to outdo each other in their strategies using all the shrewdness, cooked up inside to make their club the eventual winners. The first thing that every political party needs to have is funds to carry out various activities and that was precisely what the first round was all about. Five stalls installed on either side of the IBS Seminar Hall each having a specific difficulty level and respective amounts of money to be acquired. It was fun to see MBA graduates becoming child again for those 10 minutes playing those engaging minute to minute games giving their heart out to earn as much as they can. Using these amount and government fund provided to them later in the evening now the teams had to acquire resources with which they could conduct their political activities by bidding, betting, bribing and building their own empire. Thus Day 1 was concluded after a vigorous fight between the teams to acquire funds and resources. Teams believed they had built a wonderful platform for themselves to win. Little did they know that the real test or should i say the game of throne demanded a lot more on day two. Enter Day 2 and teams already there taking their seats to complete the incomplete task left on hand. Flags, manifestos and resources were placed The Ecobizz Newsletter
on their tables. What had to be done now was the question buzzing around the venue. The teams or now the political parties had to name their parties, develop a manifesto and logos for their respective parties and acquire alliance or vote of confidence from other teams by preaching their manifestos in the right manner. The slogans of different parties roused the crowd to the politics by the drama on stage. This was followed by a vote of confidence by the chair parties. The parties were now introduced to the LIVE exit polls on basis of their assets and how the vote of confidence affected it all. The teams were going nuts assessing their positions in the exit polls and how to tackle the situation. What followed next was true POLITICS. The teams were shown a news report where the values of certain resources had either decreased or increased. The parties were allowed to go to opponent parties and form alliances with them to raise their chances of winning. Ten minutes of dealings was followed by the SECRET BALLOT VOTING. Each team had to cast two votes to two different political parties. Newswire emerged victorious with their shrewd strategies and deals hitting the bulls eye .The event was filled with twists and turns and competition surging in the venue was noticeable to each and every eye present there. It was a real sight to see young budding politicians of IBS Hyderabad in their true colours. As it is rightly stated Great events are made successful by great participants and Ecobizz appreciates each and every participant. Ecobizz signs off promising to make your stay in IBS Hyderabad a fun and learning curve of your lives.
