We are a female owned and family operated company in Melbourne on the Space Coast of Florida. You might be shocked to find out that when customers call our 800 toll free line for support they are speaking directly to the female owner of the company, Terri Gelman. She retains this role because we believe so highly in the absolute necessity and foundation of happy satisfied customers as part of our success formula. We source our products from small workshops in rural areas on the island of Java in Indonesia. Over the last six years, as we have grown, so have our suppliers. This has provided important opportunities for local villagers. We have also been pleased as we have been able to help local entrepreneurs achieve their own dreams and goals through the cooperation with our company over the years. We have worked very closely with our manufacturing partners over the years to increase their level of quality to exceed the expectations of our
customers. This has been a long and rewarding journey. Our General Manager, Jeff Moore who is the brother of the owner, at times has spent up to four months of the year in Indonesia working on the ground floor with our manufacturers. Our quality initiative has been supported with a dedicated staff of local quality inspectors who tirelessly crisscross Java working with our suppliers at every stage of the manufacturing process. We are involved in every step of the manufacturing process from lumber sourcing, cutting, kiln dry, carpentry, fine finishing, and surface coating. As part of the goals of sustainability we do not alter the woods natural look and quality with any chemical treatments. One of our pioneering innovations has been the EcoDecors® product line that accentuates the natural beauty of teakwood, complete with color variations and strong wood grains. We are proud to have been selected by a jury to be showcased within the American Association of Interior Designers’ Impact of Design Showcase in 2018. Suppliers were selected to be featured that met the criteria of impacting human health and wellness combined with environmental sustainability. Positively impacting lives has been at the core of our mission since our inception. We have been gratified and humbled to read and hear the stories of gratitude from our customers telling us how the LiftAide® shower stools helped themselves or a loved one transition from the hospital to the house after a surgery. Patented Satori® shower stools and benches provide comfortable seating surfaces from 14” to 36” wide. Choose with either a double bar for sturdiness, or a full storage shelf. Some models come fully assembled, while others require simple assembly. All Satori® benches come complete with adjustable foot pads, and slatted seats for water drainage. Classic Teak Shower Benches With LiftAide Arms ®
Classic - “first or highest quality, class, or rank: a classic piece of work” The Classic with LiftAide® arms fulfills Decoteak’s mission to enhancing the quality of life through innovative design. Previous to our entry into the teak shower bench market the only products that could provide assistance with transfer were plastic medical benches. We felt that customers that needed added support in the shower deserved to have a stylish alternative to sterile plastic medical benches. We have received hundreds of unsolicited testimonials from customers, and spouses of customers that have thanked us for provided these stylish, high quality, functional works of beauty. Many of our customers have relied upon our benches to enhance their lives both post
surgery, and as a regular aid in assuring daily independence and safety. The LiftAide® arms offered by DecoTeak are based upon voluminous scientific research on ergonomics. The daily act of transitioning from sitting to standing, and back, is one of the most stressful activities on joints prone to injury such as hips and knees. In general showers is the room of the house most prone to serious injury, especially to the elderly. The LiftAide® arms reduce the strain on joints and hips by over 300% by providing weight bearing support. They also dramatically reduce the odds of injury through falling or slipping in the shower.

New Designer line by Rebecca Gelman Architecture Rebecca Gelman Ehrenreich, the sister-in-law of the owner, is a talented architect in South Orange, New Jersey. For the past 20 years she has been doing renovation products for customers remodeling older homes. Many of these renovations have involved kitchens. The older homes in New Jersey, built in the turn of the century typically had very small kitchens. It was not always an option to expand the kitchen into adjoining rooms, or build an addition requiring working within existing compact spaces. She found that many of these older kitchens could not accommodate a traditional large island counter, but yet many of her clients wanted the convenience of having a small portable work surface, as well as eating area in their kitchen. The solution was Tweaked Designs which provide solid teak portable multi-purpose carts and islands in a compact form factor for small urban spaces.

Home Decor ® Our Village Artisans™ line of home décor is sourced from very small individual crafts people in rural villages. During our trips to visit our suppliers making our standard products we scan the side streets and back alleys as we drive through the country. Often times these rural workshops are unmarked, and can be found only by hearing the sounds of saws and hammers. These products are not produced in commercial quantities and are available in limited quantities. Each product is hand crafted, often times by a small family run workshop. We like the opportunity to work with the local crafts people at the ground floor and provide them opportunities to produce in larger quantities than would normally be available only supplying to the local crafts markets. These products are made from local indigenous woods grown in Indonesia, that have no direct translation into English.
