benefits

Advantages and benefits of green roofs for the environment

for people

and nature

Green roofs alleviate the air pollution by photosynthesis and the absorption and reduction of air pollutants.

It has been proved that the esthetic aspect of the green oases in the cities is good for the human well-being and improves the quality of life.

The vegetation stock creates new habitat for a variety of micro-organisms and small animals.

Green roof systems create better working conditions since they improve the indoor atmosphere, particularly in summer. Better working conditions enhance the motivation to work. A further benefit is the soundabsorbing feature of the vegetation cover.

Just like all green spaces, large extensive green roofs improve the air quality in areas with high building density and have a positive effect on the “heat island effect“.

This way, our green roofs give us back a piece of nature.

Extensive green roof sites compensate for the sealing of natural areas caused by building activities.

In heavy rainfalls our system retains large quantities of the stormwater. Surplus water is released to the gutters and drains slowly and with a certain delay. This substantially reduces the strain on the sewage system. Optional: The installation of an additional special layer will protect the interior rooms from electromagnetic pollution.

costs

security

At first sight, the initial costs of a green roof are greater than those of a traditional roof. In the long term it shows, however, that green roofs are more cost effective if following factors are taken into consideration:

The specific selection and composition of our systematic components ensures safety against wind uplift. Test certificates are available.

The vegetation reduces the differences between day and night temperatures on the roof. In summer and winter alike, it protects the roof sealing from peak temperatures. Furthermore, the vegetative structure is a protective layer against dropping ice fragments and hail. All these effects lead to an extended lifespan of the whole roof construction, particularly the sealing - up to 3 times as long as the lifespan of a traditional roof. When repairs or alterations on the roof become necessary the vegetation blankets are rolled up and installed again when the job is completed.

- extended lifespan of sealing and roof construction - less repairs to the roof - reduced heating costs - lower costs of airconditioning (summer heat insulation) - optional: lower costs of water supply. The surplus water which drains through the filter fleeces of the green roof system may be collected and used for car wash, sanitary facilities etc. - better image due to the application of environmentally friendly technology.

Due to the pre-cultivation of our vegetation blankets the vegetation stock offers immediate protection from erosion caused by wind and rain. Our components are hardly inflammable and successfully passed the relevant test. maintenance Our plants require extremely little maintenance. A dose of fertilizer once a year is sufficient. There will be only little growth of weeds, since most of them are not able to survive in the very thin substrate layer.

- appreciation of value of the building

Due to the insignificant amount of dead leaves special cleaning of the gutters and drains is not necessary.

installation

vegetation

The installation is easy, quick, and clean. Our system does not require any soil. All materials are just rolled out and laid on the roof.

The plant selection is made according to the regional climatic conditions.

And the best of it: The roof is instantly green! load Due to the low dead load of our thin-layered vegetative structure, only slight alterations to the roof construction are required, if need be.
