Maurice LANGLOIS, Programme Director, EM NORMANDIE.
“Daily economic and geopolitical news show us that globalisation is the unavoidable process of the 21st century. As a consequence, the business context may be assumed to be more and more homogenous and technical, while economic frontiers are fading. However, the harsh reality of cultural differences between countries, regions, or ethnic communities shows that cross-cultural issues still remain of critical importance. Being aware of cultural idiosyncrasies is thus essential in many management situations. This is particularly true for marketing and related negotiation activities. This Master’s Degree is designed to equip students not only with the required technical and relational competencies in marketing and negotiation, but also with the much needed cross-cultural expertise, to allow proficiency in cross-border management situations.
This Master’s programme is moreover designed to respond to the global trend towards transversal careers. Managers already hold a variety of functions during their careers and this phenomenon will increase in the near future. Marketing and negotiation being closely linked in practice, students will develop insight into these two complementary areas. If you are looking to enhance your international career and motivated by an exciting cross-cultural experience, the Master in Cross-Cultural Marketing and Negotiation is the programme to join.”

The HEC Entrepreneurs pedagogical approach: Learning to make decisions and manage through action ! Each field project is entrusted to a company, a public or private development organisation and undergoes a rigorous selection process by the MSc programme director. Each field project is carried out by a team of three students over a period of 5 weeks. The students approach the field project as junior consultants and are considered as real assistants by the professional in charge of supervising and supporting them. At the end, a final day is organised when each team presents its work to a panel of executives and managers of companies specialised in the subject of the field project. The panel evaluates the quality of the analysis and the relevance of the recommendations. Very much based in corporate reality, this pedagogical approach was developed in partnership with the Groupe HEC Paris. It allows students to build a CV rich in diversified experience, to acquire multiple competencies and to develop their capacity to take risks and work in teams… qualities which are essential to the professional success of future managers.
