STUDENT SENATE MEETING BIG TWELVE ROOM OCTOBER 22, 2009 7:00 P.M. CALL TO ORDER Speaker of the Student Senate Schultz called the meeting to order at 7:03 p.m. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE Speaker Schultz led the pledge. ROLL CALL 53 Senators and 20 Interns were present for roll. OPEN PERIOD None APPROVAL OF MINUTES Fangman moved to approve the minutes. Motion seconded and passed. Privilege Fee Chair Schultz o Toured the union and reviewed request • Governmental Relations Chair Unruh o Attended City Commission meeting • Hand Held device ban has been put on hold. • No official stance has been taken by committee • Senate Operation Chair Norris o Applications for elections commissioner position were due yesterday and 4 applications were turned in. Interviews will be held soon. DIRECTORS’ REPORTS • Vice President Stoskopf o KSU announced Provost candidates and they will be on campus next week o Leadership Studies building will be finished December 15 and Spring classes will be held there next semester. o Online chat with Kirk Schulz will be next Tuesday at 7:30 pm o He will be attending Salina Student Life Center Ribbon cutting event • State Relations Director Bradford o House Republicans retreat- Guests seemed impressed with K-State and how we are utilizing funds. • Speaker Schultz o Long Term Tuition Strategies committee will be meeting Tuesday, October 29th, 7 pm in OSAS •
