Some Symbols of Christ The bible tells us of several different types of animals that Jesus is referred to He’s referred to as the Lion of Judah in the book of Revelations He’s referred to as the Lamb of God in the book of John He’s even referred to as a Good Shepherd in the book of Revelations (a shepherd is not an animal but a shepherd does protect and care for his flock) ©2012 Household Of Israel Temple Of Jesus Christ. We Are Little Sheep Jesus was not only referred to as different animals himself, but he also refers to his children as little lambs (so if we’re the lambs and he’s the shepherd, he must be keeping a good eye on us) Jesus must have a great love for creatures he made! ©2012 Household Of Israel Temple Of Jesus Christ. Sacrificial Offerings When there was a need for an offering it was mostly done by using animals When a burnt offering was presented, an animal had to be sacrificed When a sin offering was presented, an animal had to be sacrificed Š2012 Household Of Israel Temple Of Jesus Christ. Sin Offering Let’s speak a little on a sin offering This type of offering would require an animal to be killed and presented whenever someone committed a sin! Wow! Each time someone would sin they would have to kill an animal for forgiveness (blood had to be shed)

Christ Walked on This Earth When Jesus came down here and walked this very earth that you and I walk today, he had a very specific reason for doing so He had to forgive the sinners and gather his lost saints But that came with a very big cost! Jesus would eventually have to be sacrificed himself and die for OUR sins in order for us to be forgiven and have a second chance (You can look this up in I Peter 1: 17-21 and Matthews in your bible)

Lamb for Sin Offering God’s people were taught to offer an animal, usually a lamb, as a sacrifice for any sin Anyone who wanted to be forgiven for their sins would have to take a lamb to the priest That innocent lamb had to die in place of the person so that he/ she could be forgiven their sins Š2012 Household Of Israel Temple Of Jesus Christ. Sin Is BAD God wanted to show the people how sin was so terrible that the blood of a blameless animal had to be shed in order for forgiveness to occur That poor, poor lamb! Hebrews 9:22 – “Without shedding of blood, is no remission” ©2012 Household Of Israel Temple Of Jesus Christ. All Rights Reserved

Christ Is Our Lamb For many years, God commanded people to sacrifice lambs, and this was an acceptable offering for having sinned But Jesus, who is called the Lamb of God, represents the lamb that was sacrificed each time John 1: 29 says: “The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.” ©2012 Household Of Israel Temple Of Jesus Christ. Christ Is Our Lamb Today, there is no need to offer an animal as a sacrifice for our sins When Jesus Christ (The Lamb of God) died on the cross and his blood poured out, it eliminated the need for animals to ever be sacrificed again Why?.....Because he was the final and innocent Lamb that was sacrificed for our sins! What Is a Record Book? What is a record book?....God writes down everything we do in this life on a record book, whether GOOD or BAD Before we can go to heaven with Christ, we must be free from sin and our record books must be free from sin as well Think of using an eraser When you make a mistake while writing something down on a sheet of paper, the eraser will remove the mistake Christ’s blood can be liken to an eraser but more POWERFUL Š2012 Household Of Israel Temple Of Jesus Christ. Let’s Look at the Bible If you would like to read about the Crucifixion of Jesus Christ (The Lamb that died for our sins) read St. John 19 & Matthews 27. It’s a sad story, but he did it because he love us!
