Otavalo Market (full day)

Departure from Quito through The Panamericana North Highway with a brief stop at Calderon, a town where the famous “masapan” dolls are made. If timing allows us we will stop at the highway’s mirador to admire and take pictures of the beautiful landscape and snow caped mountains of the zone. Crossing the equatorial line at Guachala (used to be the middle of the world monument) we will head up to Otavalo and make a stop at Mira Lago to take pictures of the beautiful San Pablo Lake. The tour then continues to Otavalo where the Otavaleños (natives) set up a market in which a bartering manner of shopping is taken. The market hosts a variety of different handcrafted items. Continuing the trip, we will go to Cotacachi, famous for its leather articlas, and where lunch can be taken. Finally we will go to Peguche, small village known for its waterfalls and wind instruments fabrics. Return to Quito through the Cajas-Tabacundo road.

Cotopaxi National Park (full day) Departure from Quito through The Panamericana South Highway, enjoying the beautiful landscapes of the place, we will visit the SaquisilĂ­ market (only Thursdays) where native people of the region expose and sell their handicrafts, continuing we will arrive at the impressive active volcano Cotopaxi (5.897 m. High). During our staying at the National Park we will visit its museum, the natural environment of the place, its animals and plants, stop a the Limpiopungo lake , continue to the typical hacienda where a typical appetizer will be served and then visit to its installations optional to this you can have lunch, ride horses or walk trough their nature paths. Return to Quito in the afternoon

Papallacta Thermal Center And Spa (full day)

Departure from Quito early in the morning through the road that leads to the Amazon jungle, in about one hour later we will be arriving to the Papallacta Thermal Centre. This place has the particularity to have a very cold weather outside but very warms natural thermal water pools. Mindo Ecotourism (full day)

Departure from Quito, on the way you will observe the impressive change of vegetation and climate until reaching the Cloud Forest. In Mindo, a trekking through the forest will be done, depending on the difficulty and adventure preferred. During the hiking you will have the opportunity to admire the waterfalls, the natural forest, rivers, and more than 400 exotic species of birds, butterflies and orchids. A full day tour includes lunch and a specialist guide. Upon request you can do kayak and rafting.

Quilotoa Lake (full day)

We depart early in the morning through the Avenue of the Volcanoes to visit the Laguna Quilotoa which is one of the most beautiful and breathtaking, a tranquil, mesmerizing glass-green lake lying in the crater of an extinct volcano. The volcanic crater is still perfectly formed, allowing visitors to see its past history and formidable power. We will walk down from the top of the crater to the lake’s edge. Once at the bottom of the lake, there isn’t much to do other than relax and enjoy the tranquility. The return walk back to the top of the crater you can ascend to the top by mule.

YasunĂ­ Kichwa Ecolodge (3 days/2 nights) Day 1 Yasuni Kichwa Ecolodge is located on the south bank of the Napo River, the largest Ecuadorian tributary of the Amazon, and lies within the Yasuni National Park. The journey begins from the town of Coca on comfortable motor-operated canoes, which travel down the river about two hours; during this time refreshments will be provided. You will see birds such as herons, kingfishers, terns and other Amazonian birds as well as beautiful riverside landscapes. Upon arriving at Yasuni Kichwa Ecolodge, visitors are warmly welcomed with a refreshing traditional drink and immediately taken to their cabins amidst the teeming wilderness found on one of the most biologically diverse places on Earth .In the afternoon, enjoy a short walk down to the Napo riverbank to enjoy a beautiful sunset on the beaches and natural islands. Return for dinner and rest.

Day 2 Breakfast and early departure on board the boat to visit an amazing parrot clay lick that with an easy access brings visitors face to face with approximately 11 species of parrots (incuding parrotlets and macaws), depending on the seasons, weather conditions and general goodfortune. (This activity is usually successful). We end this morning with a visit to the “Kuri Muyu” Interpretation Center run by the women of the community. Here we offer the chance to get to knowthe Kichwa culture, their crafts, traditions and use of natural resources directly with people from the community. We return for lunch and rest at the lodge. In the afternoon, walk towards the Añangu stream to visit environments including wetland, upland forest andseasonally flooded forest. Once at Añangu stream you will board a small canoe and head down the river in a spectacular adventure through the forest with opportunities tosee nightlife alligators and to listen to the sounds of nature at its purest.Return to hotel in motorized canoes, Traditional typical dinner.

Day 3 (Optional) We get up at 4: 30 am to share one of the ancient customs of the Kichwa culture, making wayusa to energize the body listen tothe Kichwa songs and mind and think about important issues in a peaceful and unique way; then we get back for breakfast, before taking a motorized canoe back to the city of Coca.

Napo Wild Center

(4 days/3 nights) Day 1 Departing from Quito, 30 minute flight to Coca over the eastern Andes mountain range. After landing, about mid-morning, and airport procedures a 5 min transfer from airport to La MisionPort / Francisco de Orellana, to embark onto a comfortable covered motor boat. Here we start a canoe ride along the Napo River for about 2 hours approx., lunch box in route. Along the way birds like herons, kingfishers and others can be spotted. After arriving at NWC’s entry dock we disembark for restroom then take a majestic and peaceful 1 to 2 hours dugout canoe ride surrounded by trees overhead, paddling along a narrow creek that connects to the lagoon where the lodge is located. Good possibilities of spotting monkeys of various species as well as large birds like toucans, parrots or even macaws. Late afternoon arrival to the NWC lodge by the overwhelming view of the Aùangu Lagoon.

Day 2 Early wake up to reach the easier access parrot clay licks in Ecuador, about 1 hour away from the lodge, guests reach there just before parrot activity kicks off at the clay lick between 7:30 to 8:30. A total of 11 species of parrots, parakeets and macaws can be seen. A visit that depends on weatherconditions, but usually successful. Later, hike along forest trail to visit the Kichwa Community of AĂąangu and sharing time with a family on their activities. Return to the creek and hike through a Terra Firme Forest for about 30 minutes until we arrive to the second parrot clay lick where if the weather conditions help will be able tofind different species of parrots, parakeets and even macaws. Lunch box served at the parrot clay lick observatory. Late afternoon arrival to the lodge.

Day 3 After early breakfast, depart from the lodge to the finest experience at a canopy tower on the Napo. A 36m high canopy tower opened to guests in November 2004, a great way to experience the life above the forest floor. This is the second tower at the Napo Wildlife Center (the first is in the center of the complex, which includes dining hall and allows great views of the lake). The tower is located about 30 minutes from the lodge deep within the terra firme forest. As you ascend the 12-floor tower, you pass through different levels of the forest and emerge on top of a huge Ceiba tree.Here you cross onto a wooden platform that is actually

built into the tree and experience the view formerly reserved only for the birds. The metal tower itself was constructed to the highest standards, galvanized, and carefully inspected by engineers. Safety is the priority. The platform at the top of the tree was constructed by tree platform specialists as well. From top to bottom, there is no finer canopy experience in EasternEcuador.

Flocks of colorful tanagers pass right through the canopy of the tree, Blue-and yellow Macaws fly past, in nearby trees Spider Monkeys search for fruit, two species of large toucans call in the early mornings and afternoons.

Day 4 Early departure and last excursion canoeing back to the Napo River, the creek may reveal new sights of Giant otters, Monk Saki monkeys or many other rare birds. Entry docking area, use of restrooms and embarking on motorized canoe in order to return back to Coca, arrival approximately after2 hours boat ride up river, in order to check for Coca – Quito flight, schedule to be announced according to departure details and arrangements.

Small Galapagos Hosteria Nantu (4 days/3 nights) Day 1 Arrival to the city of Puerto Lopez in the province of Manabi, accommodation in Nantu Inn located in front of the sea. Lunch, in the afternoon we will visit Los Frailes beach (transportation not included), one of the most beautiful beaches in the country and known for its white sand do to the sedimentation of coral. Day 2

Breakfast, board the yacht to visit La Plata Island known as “Galapagos Chiquito” for its similar characteristics of flora and fauna in the archipelago. Live the charm of the Amazon Hotel Yurak (3 days/ 2 nights) Day 1

Arrival at Hotel Yurak in Archidona Napo Province. Reception and welcome from our staff. Typical lunch in the area, visit the Grand Canyon just 15 minutes from the cantonal center, the tour lasts 3 hours and along the way you can see natural waterfalls and mainly the lagoon formed by the tributary of the river Jondachi. After this beautiful tour we will go to the community Yanayaku located 2 km from the center of the city where we can see petroglyphs and waterfall Yanayaku formed by the union of the rivers Lucian and Walsayaku, accompanied by a visit to the Caverns with petrified animals of the area with its ceremonial center and their rituals. Return to the hotel, dinner and accommodation.

Day 2

After breakfast we will visit the community of Cotundo declared Cultural Patrimony of Ecuador where we will learn more about the history and archaeological remains and petroglyphs found in it. Typical lunch in the area (maito) in the Central City Market, we will visit communities of Boa Loma, Mushullacta and Huasquilla having as the main attraction the petroglyphs. To complement this tour we will visit a natural viewpoint called la Cruz in the Community of Huambula located 15 minutes from the city crossing through a forest in state of regeneration. We return to the hotel for dinner and rest.

Quito City Tour & Middle of the World (4 Days/ 3 Nights)

A comprehensive city tour includes visits to residential neighbourhoods at the northern end of the city, visiting the “ GuapuloMirador”, passing through the 12 of October Avenue up to the Culture House and the Legislative Palace (Congress) where the rock murals that are related to the history of Ecuador can be appreciated. The tour will then continue through the Gran Colombia Avenue up to the Basilica Church, where we will make a brief stop and next, the “San Juan Mirador” from where you will have a beautiful sight of The Colonial Quito. After walking through the colonial streets we will then stop at the Independence Plaza admiring the Cathedral, the Government’s Palace, and the Archiepiscopal palace. Furthermore, we will visit The Company Church where adornments and gold altars can be appre-

ciated, a visit to the Sagrario Church and San Francisco Church, which was built during the 17th century, will be also done. And then, we will be heading to the “PanecilloMirador”, the most famous hill of Quito, from where a sight of the colonial and modern Quito will be taken. We will continue at the northern part of the city heading up to the “Middle of the World City” where the monument that divides the Northern Hemisphere from the Southern Hemisphere will be visited. It was built during the XVII century when a French Expedition defined the precise location of the equatorial line. The Ethnographic Museum can be also be visited.
