Otavalo Market (full day)
Departure from Quito through The Panamericana North Highway with a brief stop at Calderon, a town where the famous “masapan” dolls are made. If timing allows us we will stop at the highway’s mirador to admire and take pictures of the beautiful landscape and snow caped mountains of the zone. Crossing the equatorial line at Guachala (used to be the middle of the world monument) we will head up to Otavalo and make a stop at Mira Lago to take pictures of the beautiful San Pablo Lake. The tour then continues to Otavalo where the Otavaleños (natives) set up a market in which a bartering manner of shopping is taken. The market hosts a variety of different handcrafted items. Continuing the trip, we will go to Cotacachi, famous for its leather articlas, and where lunch can be taken. Finally we will go to Peguche, small village known for its waterfalls and wind instruments fabrics. Return to Quito through the Cajas-Tabacundo road.

Cotopaxi National Park (full day) Departure from Quito through The Panamericana South Highway, enjoying the beautiful landscapes of the place, we will visit the SaquisilĂ market (only Thursdays) where native people of the region expose and sell their handicrafts, continuing we will arrive at the impressive active volcano Cotopaxi (5.897 m. High). During our staying at the National Park we will visit its museum, the natural environment of the place, its animals and plants, stop a the Limpiopungo lake , continue to the typical hacienda where a typical appetizer will be served and then visit to its installations optional to this you can have lunch, ride horses or walk trough their nature paths. Mindo Ecotourism (full day)
Departure from Quito, on the way you will observe the impressive change of vegetation and climate until reaching the Cloud Forest. In Mindo, a trekking through the forest will be done, depending on the difficulty and adventure preferred. During the hiking you will have the opportunity to admire the waterfalls, the natural forest, rivers, and more than 400 exotic species of birds, butterflies and orchids. Quilotoa Lake (full day)
We depart early in the morning through the Avenue of the Volcanoes to visit the Laguna Quilotoa which is one of the most beautiful and breathtaking, a tranquil, mesmerizing glass-green lake lying in the crater of an extinct volcano. The volcanic crater is still perfectly formed, allowing visitors to see its past history and formidable power. We will walk down from the top of the crater to the lake’s edge. Once at the bottom of the lake, there isn’t much to do other than relax and enjoy the tranquility. The return walk back to the top of the crater you can ascend to the top by mule.

YasunĂ Kichwa Ecolodge (3 days/2 nights) Day 1 Yasuni Kichwa Ecolodge is located on the south bank of the Napo River, the largest Ecuadorian tributary of the Amazon, and lies within the Yasuni National Park. The journey begins from the town of Coca on comfortable motor-operated canoes, which travel down the river about two hours; during this time refreshments will be provided. You will see birds such as herons, kingfishers, terns and other Amazonian birds as well as beautiful riverside landscapes. Upon arriving at Yasuni Kichwa Ecolodge, visitors are warmly welcomed with a refreshing traditional drink and immediately taken to their cabins amidst the teeming wilderness found on one of the most biologically diverse places on Earth .In the afternoon, enjoy a short walk down to the Napo riverbank to enjoy a beautiful sunset on the beaches and natural islands. Day 2 Breakfast and early departure on board the boat to visit an amazing parrot clay lick that with an easy access brings visitors face to face with approximately 11 species of parrots (incuding parrotlets and macaws), depending on the seasons, weather conditions and general goodfortune. (This activity is usually successful). We end this morning with a visit to the “Kuri Muyu” Interpretation Center run by the women of the community. Here we offer the chance to get to knowthe Kichwa culture, their crafts, traditions and use of natural resources directly with people from the community. We return for lunch and rest at the lodge. In the afternoon, walk towards the Añangu stream to visit environments including wetland, upland forest andseasonally flooded forest. Once at Añangu stream you will board a small canoe and head down the river in a spectacular adventure through the forest with opportunities tosee nightlife alligators and to listen to the sounds of nature at its purest.Return to hotel in motorized canoes, Traditional typical dinner.

Napo Wild Center
(4 days/3 nights) Day 1 Departing from Quito, 30 minute flight to Coca over the eastern Andes mountain range. After landing, about mid-morning, and airport procedures a 5 min transfer from airport to La MisionPort / Francisco de Orellana, to embark onto a comfortable covered motor boat. Here we start a canoe ride along the Napo River for about 2 hours approx., lunch box in route. Along the way birds like herons, kingfishers and others can be spotted. After arriving at NWC’s entry dock we disembark for restroom then take a majestic and peaceful 1 to 2 hours dugout canoe ride surrounded by trees overhead, paddling along a narrow creek that connects to the lagoon where the lodge is located. Good possibilities of spotting monkeys of various species as well as large birds like toucans, parrots or even macaws. Late afternoon arrival to the NWC lodge by the overwhelming view of the Aùangu Lagoon.

Day 2 Early wake up to reach the easier access parrot clay licks in Ecuador, about 1 hour away from the lodge, guests reach there just before parrot activity kicks off at the clay lick between 7:30 to 8:30. A total of 11 species of parrots, parakeets and macaws can be seen. A visit that depends on weatherconditions, but usually successful. Later, hike along forest trail to visit the Kichwa Community of AĂąangu and sharing time with a family on their activities. Return to the creek and hike through a Terra Firme Forest for about 30 minutes until we arrive to the second parrot clay lick where if the weather conditions help will be able tofind different species of parrots, parakeets and even macaws. Lunch box served at the parrot clay lick observatory. Late afternoon arrival to the lodge.
Day 3 After early breakfast, depart from the lodge to the finest experience at a canopy tower on the Napo. A 36m high canopy tower opened to guests in November 2004, a great way to experience the life above the forest floor. This is the second tower at the Napo Wildlife Center (the first is in the center of the complex, which includes dining hall and allows great views of the lake). The tower is located about 30 minutes from the lodge deep within the terra firme forest. As you ascend the 12-floor tower, you pass through different levels of the forest and emerge on top of a huge Ceiba tree.Here you cross onto a wooden platform that is actually

built into the tree and experience the view formerly reserved only for the birds. The metal tower itself was constructed to the highest standards, galvanized, and carefully inspected by engineers. Safety is the priority. The platform at the top of the tree was constructed by tree platform specialists as well. From top to bottom, there is no finer canopy experience in EasternEcuador.
Flocks of colorful tanagers pass right through the canopy of the tree, Blue-and yellow Macaws fly past, in nearby trees Spider Monkeys search for fruit, two species of large toucans call in the early mornings and afternoons.
Day 4 Early departure and last excursion canoeing back to the Napo River, the creek may reveal new sights of Giant otters, Monk Saki monkeys or many other rare birds. Entry docking area, use of restrooms and embarking on motorized canoe in order to return back to Coca, arrival approximately after2 hours boat ride up river, in order to check for Coca – Quito flight, schedule to be announced according to departure details and arrangements.

Small Galapagos Hosteria Nantu (4 days/3 nights) Day 1 Arrival to the city of Puerto Lopez in the province of Manabi, accommodation in Nantu Inn located in front of the sea. Live the charm of the Amazon Hotel Yurak (3 days/ 2 nights) Day 1
Arrival at Hotel Yurak in Archidona Napo Province. Reception and welcome from our staff. Typical lunch in the area, visit the Grand Canyon just 15 minutes from the cantonal center, the tour lasts 3 hours and along the way you can see natural waterfalls and mainly the lagoon formed by the tributary of the river Jondachi. After this beautiful tour we will go to the community Yanayaku located 2 km from the center of the city where we can see petroglyphs and waterfall Yanayaku formed by the union of the rivers Lucian and Walsayaku, accompanied by a visit to the Caverns with petrified animals of the area with its ceremonial center and their rituals. To complement this tour we will visit a natural viewpoint called la Cruz in the Community of Huambula located 15 minutes from the city crossing through a forest in state of regeneration. Quito City Tour & Middle of the World (4 Days/ 3 Nights)
A comprehensive city tour includes visits to residential neighbourhoods at the northern end of the city, visiting the “ GuapuloMirador”, passing through the 12 of October Avenue up to the Culture House and the Legislative Palace (Congress) where the rock murals that are related to the history of Ecuador can be appreciated. The tour will then continue through the Gran Colombia Avenue up to the Basilica Church, where we will make a brief stop and next, the “San Juan Mirador” from where you will have a beautiful sight of The Colonial Quito. After walking through the colonial streets we will then stop at the Independence Plaza admiring the Cathedral, the Government’s Palace, and the Archiepiscopal palace. Furthermore, we will visit The Company Church where adornments and gold altars can be appre-

ciated, a visit to the Sagrario Church and San Francisco Church, which was built during the 17th century, will be also done. And then, we will be heading to the “PanecilloMirador”, the most famous hill of Quito, from where a sight of the colonial and modern Quito will be taken. We will continue at the northern part of the city heading up to the “Middle of the World City” where the monument that divides the Northern Hemisphere from the Southern Hemisphere will be visited. It was built during the XVII century when a French Expedition defined the precise location of the equatorial line. The Ethnographic Museum can be also be visited.

Oct 10: Cuenca – Cajas National Park – Guayaquil
In the morning we will take the route to Guayaquil for Cajas National Park, along the way we will observe the picturesque landscapes of the region, will be a journey of about 45 minutes to the Cajas National Park, where we will do an easy hike in the sector of Llaviuco lagoon, where we will observe the Andean flora and fauna. Lunch at Dos Chorreras. We continue our journey to the upper area of the park to observe the vegetation of Paramo, and see the beautiful scenery it offers, and start the descent to the subtropical lowlands where you will be amazed by the rapidly changing landscape and climate. In a few hours, we will pass by the biodiversity of the high moors and the cloud forest to the vastness of the cacao, bananas, among other products in warm weather. Short visit to a cacao plantation. Province, where we’ll board the train that had started the day from Riobamba. We’ll have a chance to enjoy the most impressive part of this railway going into the “Devil’s Nose”, a geographical formation that has led to a zigzagging railway perched on the Andes cliffs. Return to Alausí on the train to pick up box lunch. Oct 10: Guayaquil – Wild Dolphins Observation
After breakfast we will leave to Puerto El Morro, this eco-touristic project is held by the fishermen of the community, we visit a small and still basic interpretation center, to continue navigating on the peaceful waters of this extensive inlet where bottle nosed dolphins will swim and swirl along our canoe. Tropical birds’ observation and magnificent mangrove landscapes on a short easy hike on the egret’s island complete this wonderful day. Lunch at the community and start of the return to Guayaquil. Churute Mangroves and Cajas National Park Oct 9: Guayaquil – Churute Mangroves – Cajas
Departure from Guayaquil to Manglares Churute. This ecological reserve is one of the most extensive and accessible in the coast. It covers over 35,000 hectares from which 8100 hectares protect different species of mangroves and the rest protects tropical dry forest on the Chongón Ridge. On the different regions of the reserve have been registered, a healthy population of two species of monkeys, a variety of coastal and marine birds, dolphins, and the only coastal population of horned screamers. From the pier of El Gallo will take the fishermen canoe to navigate on the estuary to the Birds Island where we’ll observe different species of egrets, herons, ibises, ducks, etc. Being lucky you might even get to see bottle-nosed dolphins. Afterwards we’ll have a hike on the dry tropical forest trails to appreciate the contrast of vegetation accompanied by the sounds of the howler monkeys. A traditional sea food lunch prepared by the local ladies will be served on the communitarian restaurant. (Other food options might be served only under prior

Oct 10: Cajas full day – Guayaquil
In the morning we will have a short drive towards the lower zone of the El Cajas National Park, world known for its over 300 lake system. Here you will do an easy hike on the Llaviuco Lake area while casually bird watching and landscaping. This area possesses a highly interesting mixture of habitats for birdwatching: well preserved mountain forests, paramos, lakes and pastures. The tour will continue towards the high zone of the Park, to observe “Páramo” vegetation and witness the impressive contrasts created by different levels of altitude. Continuation to Guayaquil through the coastal plains to do a panoramic visit of the most important port in Ecuador. Arrival to Guayaquil by early evening. Meal plan: B / L / -

Cancelation and Tour Policies •

Prices are per person, NET prices Non-commissionable and in United State Dollars.

According to Ecuadorian Tourism Law the groups and individual travelers will always be escorted by a certificated National Tour Guide; in locations as national parks and reserves they will also have an accompanying Naturalist Guide.

South Land Turismo Cía. Ltda. SLT Ecuador, is not responsible for any passenger who may not be able to continue their trip outwards of Ecuador due to missing vaccinations that are required in other countries and not in Ecuador (i.e. Costa Rica) or other medical conditions that might interrupt their regular traveling.

In all our quotes, breakfast at each hotel is included, but hotels have their own policies and most of them serve breakfast from 7:00 am to 10:00 am. If any group member or the whole group leaves before the established breakfast time and misses the breakfast service, it won’t be refundable or exchangeable for any other meal in the tour; room service and box breakfast have an additional full cost and there will not be any price compensation for the missing breakfast service.

Therefore, if there is not availability at the offered hotels, cruises or jungle lodges, we will confirm with other hotels, cruises or jungle lodges in the same category. Availability will be confirmed only once the initial 30% deposit stated in the confirmation contract is effective in the SLT Ecuador banking account. •
All the rates are considered for foreigner companies and tourists, if an Ecuadorian company or an Ecuadorian citizen is invoiced, 14% of sale taxes must be added to the final prices.

Rates may be subject to modification by SLT Ecuador, while there is a written confirmation, for the following reasons: modification of fuels’ price in Ecuador; alteration of national taxes related or influent to listed services; increase of entrance fees or services provided or controlled by the Ecuadorian Government or its institutions (museums, ruins or other) and increase on the rates of suppliers or salaries, if prescribed by the Ecuadorian Government. In this given case, SLT Ecuador will acknowledge the quoted and confirmed rates to fully prepaid services only, except for airfare –which is always subject to change without prior notice-, exception made for previously issued tickets.
Cancelation Policies. All the services not owned by South Land Turismo Cia. Ltda. SLT Ecuador, such as Galapagos cruises and lodges, jungle lodges and cruises, Cruise Train, international or local airlines and other third party products will be subject to the particular policies and condi-

tions established by each specific operator. To provide services it is required a down payment of 30% of the total value, which will cover the necessary deposit percentages for booking confirmation of third party products such as: Galapagos cruises or land tours, Cruise Train, Amazon lodges or cruises, etc. and the initial administrative and services fees of SLT Ecuador. This deposit must be effective on the SLT Ecuador account within a maximum term of 10 days after the written confirmation of agreement on the itinerary of the tour package. Cancelation of services: All third party products such as Galapagos cruises or land tours, Cruise Train, Amazon lodges or cruises, etc. will apply their own particular tour and cancellation policies. For SLT Ecuador own product cancellation and refund policies will apply as follows: 90 to 69 days before the tour is due to begin, free of cancelation charges for services provided by SLT Ecuador. 70 to 45 days before the tour is due to begin a 15% from the total payed amount will apply as cancelation charges. 44 to 30 days before the tour is due to begin a 50% from the total payed amount will apply as cancelation charges. 29 to 15 days before the tour is due to begin a 60% from the total payed amount will apply as cancelation charges.

14 to 5 days before the tour is due to begin a 75% from the total payed amount will apply as cancelation charges. 5 to 0 days before the tour is due to begin a 90% from the total payed amount will apply as cancelation charges. Any refund will have all the generated transaction and banking fees as well as the 5% Ecuadorian Overseas Currency Remittance Tax – percentage subject to change without prior notice-, and any other specific taxes charged and discounted from the final refunded amount. South Land Turismo CIA. Ltda. SLT Ecuador, will not be held responsible if the program must be modified or cancelled due to political commotion, natural disasters or/and any other circumstance out of our control and “force majeure”. Therefore, if for the safety of our tour participants we have to do any modification on the program, we will always try to provide a similar program.
Bookings and Payment Policies for Groups & Fits
To provide services it is required a down payment of 30% of the total value, which will cover the necessary deposit percentages for booking confirmation of third party products such as: Galapagos cruises or land tours, Cruise Train, Amazon lodges or cruises, etc. and the initial administrative and services fees of SLT Ecuador. This deposit must be effective on the SLT Ecuador account within a maximum term of 10 days after the written confirmation of agree-

ment on the itinerary of the tour package. The 70% balance must be fully paid 70 days before the operation of services is due to begin. For last minute requested tours (any under 70 days before the operation of services is due to begin), the 30% down payment must be effective immediately (within the next 48 hours) and the 70% balance must be paid within the term of the next 7 days after the confirmation of agreement. Any requested tours due to operate within the next 45 days from the confirmation date must be fully paid at time of confirmation. 1. Group Deposits or Pre-payments Full Payment is needed 70 days prior to the date our services are due to begin. All services not owned by SOUTH LAND TOURING (Amazon, Galapagos Cruises and other third party products) will be subject to the policies and conditions established by each operator. For all land services for FIT’s, full pre-payment is needed 45 days prior to the date our services are due to beginning. 2. Group Payments Payments must be made in the following order of preference.
