As the Union Canal celebrates its 200th anniversary, discover our commissions programme which unfolds westwards along the water from the city centre. At Wester Hailes, explore the Community Wellbeing Collective’s Watch this Space in the main shopping centre and see sail-banners at Bridge 8 Hub created with local people in Pester and Rossi’s Finding Buoyancy. Along the route of the canal, Associate Artist Emmie McLuskey presents a programme of new work inspired by the canal; and at Lochrin Basin, Edinburgh Printmakers present a new co-commission by Canadian artist Nadia Myer.

Help us grow

Access

For families

As a charity, Edinburgh Art Festival supports visual artists, audiences and educators throughout the year, allowing people to have exciting art experiences on their doorstep. If you enjoy the festival and would like to see us grow, you can support us by making a donation or buying an item from our online shop. Every donation, no matter how large or small, helps us to stay ambitious, inclusive and free at the point of access.

Edinburgh city centre is a multi-layered landscape, with cobbled streets, steep hills and steps. To help navigate this, we’ve teamed up with Euan’s Guide – find out more at euansguide.com/edartfest

Many of our partner galleries have exciting family trails or activities to keep everyone busy on your visit.

Along with selected partners, we are using WelcoMe to support you to have the most inclusive experience of the festival possible. WelcoMe is a tool to share your needs for personalised support at festival venues.
