There are two main reasons for this, one the company wants to help out the city or state and give back, and two, they want to encourage a strong work force by encouraging higher education. It's a win/ win for the corporation and all the recipients of these scholarships. The scholarships are set up in several ways, some are based on the needs of the recipient while others are simply a reward for academic excellence regardless of the financial situation of the person receiving the scholarship. No matter which type of scholarship it is one thing is certain: the application process will be difficult, challenging and very competitive. In general, it's about a lot more than just getting good grades. It's often about showing a strong sense of community by having a record of community service. Most of these corporate scholarship programs are looking for well rounded individuals who have shown that they are good citizens. As with all types of scholarships, each corporation will have it's own criteria of what they are looking for in an applicant. The first step you should take is to do a search for any corporation that offers scholarships. You will end up with quite a long list. That actually is a good thing since it is a numbers game so the more scholarships you apply for, the greater the odds of you getting accepted into at least one. Another thing to keep in mind is that the criteria will likely be very closely related to the business of the corporation that is offering it. For example, a corporation that is in the medical field will likely restrict their scholarships to those people who are interested in entering the medical field. The same goes for a scholarship offered by a food company, more than likely they will set their criteria to only accept those interested in the food industry (though please keep in mind that with both of those examples that leaves a ton of possible career paths. Food companies often hire chemists and medical corporations also hire accountants). Once you've gotten a broad list of corporations who offer scholarships, narrow it down to the ones you are eligible for. From that point on it is basically just a matter of filling out all the applications. Many scholarships will require virtually the same information so once you've compiled it all, it will be a pretty easy matter of just re-purposing it for each corporation. Once you've got it all together, it should go pretty quickly from that point on. There are many options when it comes time to find help funding your college education. Virtually every organization offers some sort of scholarship. Add to that the number of corporate scholarship programs available and it becomes clear that as long as you are willing to put in the time (and you've gotten good grades) you will have little trouble finding at least one scholarship to help lower the overall cost of your education. It's worth taking the time. ==== ==== Income Tax Preparation FREE Info Visit:
