The good news is that there are so many types of scholarships available that pretty much anyone can get some sort of help with their schooling. You may not get it all paid for, but getting a financial aid scholarship will greatly reduce the amount of debt you have to deal with when you are done with school. Upwards of 80% of college students either don't know about, or for some reason don't try to get, a scholarship, which means there is more for you! The process to get a scholarship can be daunting, true, but it is worth taking the time and effort to get some help with the costs of college, don't you agree? There are a lot of little known scholarships available. These relatively vague scholarships have much less competition and are therefore "easier" to get. Start there, start with the lesser known scholarships first. Having said that though, it's very important for you to remember that these scholarships are all competitive, it's really just a matter of degree. For that reason, you should apply for a lot. How many is a lot? well, personally I would start with anywhere from 30 -50 at least. The more you apply, the greater your odds of getting accepted into at least one. Don't forget either, a lot of the scholarships will require the same type of information, namely an essay and some recommendations. Once you've compiled all the needed info; recommendations, transcripts, etc. than you only have to re-purpose them for each new scholarship application. It won't take all the work it took the first time, but by applying for many scholarships you are dramatically increasing your odds of getting at least one acceptance. When looking for a list of financial aid scholarship to apply for start right in your own backyard. More than likely your high school will have a list of available scholarships that you can apply for. Also, don't waste your time, make sure you carefully read the requirements for each scholarship before you apply, if you aren't eligible you will only waste your time. Don't think you can "trick" them into accepting you. Only apply for those that you meet the requirements for. Going online to find lists of available scholarships is a great way to broaden your list of ideas. There are so many different types of scholarships available that the hardest part will be just to find them all. I hate to break it to you, but if you really want to go to college it is within your reach. No one said it would be easy, and it won't be, but if you've done well in high school and have good grades, and you are willing to invest the time, you can find at least one financial aid scholarship to help with the cost of college. You may still need some loans and / or to work during school, but it can be done. ==== ==== Income Tax Preparation FREE Info Visit:
