It is usually something you enjoy, are passionate about, are interested in, have knowledge and experience in. It could be one or all of these. You write on a given topic for the purpose of driving traffic (people that visit and read your article on an article directory such as this one) to your article and hopefully to your web page or blog with the purpose of promoting a product.

I am not a writer. Many feel that they can't write professional stuff. You don't have to be a professional writer to do this. If you write emails and write on facebook and have a topic that you are excited about then you can write articles. Think about it, most people have at least one hobby. You can write about this. Do you like fishing? Write about fishing. Do you like playing the guitar? Write about how you first learned to play the guitar. Do you like playing games on the internet? Write about your strategies to win. So, does it really work? Can you really make money by writing articles? Yes, you can.

Many have a full-time income just by doing this. This is not an overnight deal but the good thing is that once you write the article it stays on the internet week after week and month after month for people to read it. And if you write about something you enjoy, it will be easy for you to do.

How do I actually make money by writing articles. So how do I earn money by doing this. You earn money by driving targeted traffic to your affiliate links. What does that mean? Let's say you enjoy playing the guitar. You would write an article on anything related to this. You would sign up for an affiliate network such as clickbank. You then get a link for a digital product for how to play the guitar.

With clickbank you normally get 50 - 75 % of the sale. So if someone buys through your link you could earn around twenty dollars or so for each sale through your link.

Choosing the right keyword. This is really important. If you are going to make money by writing articles I have to emphasize the importance of choosing the right keyword. You need to pick a good key word that has enough people searching for it and that has a low competition for that keyword and then put it once every hundred words in your article. There are tools and training available (some don't cost anything) to learn how to do this easily.
