The very distinctive colour and shine of gold already fascinated our ancestors. The precious metal made its first appearance 6,000 years ago. It decorated sovereigns and their buildings and was also used for religious objects. It is one of the first mined metals, and people have worked with it and valued it ever since. It became a currency early on, in the form of coins around 600 B.C. Gold never lost its value for people. Its scarcity and the timelessness of its physical and chemical properties with their nearly unlimited application potential have made gold the indispensable material it still is today.

A total of 170,000 tonnes of gold have been mined in the last 6,000 years, according to an estimate from 2007. This is not as much as it sounds. If we were to press this gold into a cube, it would measure under 21 metres in length along one side. Most of the gold is worked into jewellery and art objects, accounting for 60% of it. Another 18% is held by central banks and monetary institutes, and 16% is held by investors in the form of coins or bars. The current annual global demand is around 4,100 tonnes. Nearly half of it is processed by the jewellery industry. Investors take up another 1,640 tonnes, and over 450 tonnes are used in the electronics industry, other industries, and in KaratMAG

dentistry. The annual demand is approximately 2,800 tonnes. To cover this demand, 1,600 tonnes of antique gold are processed, which goes some way towards compensating for this imbalance. The rest is made up for by the central banks, which feed their reserves into the market. However, there are limitations to this and it is disadvantageous to the banks. An imbalance occurs, the demand rises and the supply falls. This demand will be even greater in future. If we maintain the current output, gold mining will only be affordable for another 20 years. As a consequence, gold will only become scarcer in the foreseeable future and therefore more valuable, making it the perfect investment.

National debt is growing rapidly worldwide. Inflation goes up and the people are no better off despite a higher income. Even Germany, one of the wealthiest countries on earth, has such high debts that the state has to raise â‚Ź33 billion annually for interest payments. The U.S. has faced state bankruptcy several times in recent years. The printing presses are switched on by the states in order to meet their financial liabilities and in the end, the citizens have less money or less valuable money in their pockets. Major financial institutions collapse; then there is state assistance for banks or rescue packages for countries in the Eurozone, all scenarios that were virtually unthinkable a decade ago. But the system is heading for a big crisis. The global economy is based on a financial system that has been around for well over 600 years and it has hardly changed. It is based on the debts of states, enterprises and consumers, to the point where repayment is inconceivable. This is followed by a collapse and hyperinflation. But gold owners are amongst the winners. Unlike paper money, gold cannot be produced at will and retains its value, even when the price of gold fluctuates. If you own gold, you do not need to have confidence in the state or the banks. Gold is gold and brings security with it. It is and will remain the most stable currency in human history. Gold is not affected by inflation. In 1900, seven grammes of gold were worth around 20 German Marks. At that time, a loaf of bread cost 23 pfennigs (old German pennies), so a citizen could buy 87 loaves of rye bread for the same amount. In 2014, seven grammes of gold cost â‚Ź210, a loaf of bread cost â‚Ź2.31, and for that money you could get nearly 91 loaves of bread. One does not simply stumble upon a business idea that is 0.000135 m2 in size. It requires a whole lot of inventiveness, life experience and a big willingness to take a risk, in order to develop a now worldwide company out of something seemingly small and simple. The circumstances it originated from were also small and simple, says Harald Seiz, founder and CEO of Karatbars. One often develops a sharp eye for the value of things as well as the values in life from these kinds of circumstances. „When I get excited about something it is very easy for me to make other people excited about it too,” says Harald Seiz, as he looks back on his personal factor for success. He quickly reached the top in competition with colleagues and competitors. The emergence of his natural talent for multi-level marketing would become a crucial factor for the success of Karatbars. However, as his experience grew so did his

scepticism of the life insurance system. His sense of justice clashed more and more with the nontransparent contract conditions and calculation models that disadvantaged his clients. „The time came when I couldn‘t look my clients in the eye anymore,” Harald Seiz remembers. „And when I can‘t stand behind something with my entire being, it’s time to stop doing it.“

A question of honour.

This inner attitude regarding questions of business ethics and commercial responsibility would greatly influence the founding and market orientation of Karatbars. 1998 - Telekom must give up its monopoly. A high-potential market quickly develops for people with personalities like Harald Seiz. And history repeats itself: Thanks to his passionate commitment to clients and his social and communication skills he quickly achieves record economic figures. „During this time I wasn‘t just able to establish important networks. I was also able to put in-depth thought into the phenomenon of passive income“, says Harald Seiz, as he summarised the

experience of those years. Experiences that would soon come in handy. Harald Seiz considered the increasingly tough competition of countless telecommunication providers during the early years of the private communication market - which led to a suicidal pricing pressure - to be senseless. „I like to work very hard and I do not bypass problems; everyone who knows me is aware of that“, Seiz emphasizes. „But all that dedication has to be worthwhile. For the clients, for the partners, and for me as well.“

Freedom and independence. Best of all for everyone.

HiIn addition, there was a growing feeling of dependency and constriction. „I‘ve been a rebel for as long as I can remember,“ says Harald Seiz. „Always on the search for freedom and independence.“ The concepts „freedom“ and „independence“ would later gain major significance for the idea of a company that was forming in the back of his mind - a company that would be called Karatbars. During the mid 90‘s, the indicators point towards re-concentration in the telecommunications market. The ruthless price war claims its victims and Harald Seiz is careful not to lose control of his professional situation. „Of course it is sobering when you see your market becoming weaker despite increasing commitment,“ says Seiz, „and you have little leeway and tools to improve the situation.“ Liberation must come from somewhere. „I don‘t remember exactly when I held a piece of pure gold in my hand for the first time and thought: This is real!“ Says Seiz, smiling. Again a spark of passion is ignited. He becomes active in the gold trade starting in 2008, basically learning the business from the ground up. He uses the know-how he acquired as a sales rep, makes new, international contacts, and looks at the big picture.

Harald Seiz is looking back on a couple of turbulent weeks. Not only did celebrities come and go in a continuous stream at the headquarter in Stuttgart, the CEO of Karatbars International was also seen in company with stars and starlets from show business at the Cannes film festival. The reason was economic: Karatbars presented itself clearly to a broad interested public at this occasion.

t the beginning of May not one but two prominent visitors dropped by at the company‘s hallowed halls. Emmy winning actor and producer Vincent De Paul passed by to get to know the company and its products better. Company boss Harald Seiz personally welcomed the prominent Hollywood actor and showed him the production facility. De Paul was particularly interested in Karatbars‘ unique branding gold cards which he had already got to know during shooting for the film „Deprivation“ in Rome. Karatbars is the main Sponsor of this horror-thriller, which is due to be released in US cinemas at the end of 2016 and is expected to be shown in Germany in the forthcoming year.

used the opportunity to chat about various things with the blonde beauty. Although they did not want us to know what exactly was discussed, it sounded very promising to us, nevertheless. It also made media people prick up their ears at once. Celebrity magazine Closer dedicated some pages to the topic and asked: „Will Lena make it big in Hollywood?“ After all she has proven her acting talent in the TV-Show „Prankenstein“ and got offered a small role in the pilot for the crime series „Ketapan“. And Producer Vincent De Paul Was quite enthusiastic about the pretty German actress. Will this chance meeting set her on her career path to the US? When welcoming his guest, CEO Harald Seiz was obviously very interested in Ms Gercke‘s opinion regarding Karatbars‘ new fashion collection to be marketed under the new catchy label „Konstantin Caratino“. She had nothing but praise for the the fashionable ladies and gents wear.

We are eager to know when and where we finally can buy these fashion garments and whether or not Mr Seiz has another ace up his sleeve. To forge and foster important contacts is an essential in the movie business. Therefore, following a guided tour through the company premises, a shooting of a corporate image film featuring Vincent De Paul and an audition for his next movie, director Chris G. Maier, Karatbars‘ CEO Harald Seiz, the two winners of said audition - Silke Löw from Cologne and Sandra Singh from Vienna accompanied by Netcoo‘s publisher Andreas Graunke moved on towards Cannes at the Cote d‘Azur (France). At the 2016 Cannes Film Festival Karatbars presented itself with an advertising banner right next to the Red Carpet in the midst of all the present stars and starlets. Julia Roberts, Jodie Foster, George Clooney, Johnny Depp - the list could well become an endless one - they all were present here in Cannes. “Deprivation“ was shot in early March in Rome, Italy, which will be released in the US at the end of the year and is expected to be shown in German cinemas next year. The experience will remain in Jana Julie Kilka‘s memory. For the German Actress, best known for „Verbotene Liebe“ (the ARD-Soap), filming „Deprivation“ was quite special as it was her first international film production. Jana Kilka’s costars were Costas Mandylor ( „Saw“), Vincent De Paul (discovered as a Menswear model by designer Gianni Versace), Kirsten Lea, and Dominique Swain. „Deprivation“ was directed by the successful Brian Skiba ( „Blood Moon Rising“), whose films have been seen by over 70 million people in the US alone.

„Deprivation“ is based on a story known as „Russian sleep experiment“. In the late 1940s, researchers were said to have detained six Russian people and then subjected them to a gas that caused insomnia. After a few days without sleep, the researchers observed paranoid behaviors in their prisoners. On the ninth day imprisonment, one of them began to scream. In the film, the prisoners mutate after a few days to become zombies. Jana Kilka, in her first Hollywood role, plays the villain‘s accomplice, and (spoilers!) she dies a cinematic death. Ultimately, Jana Kilka was pleased with how the film turned out. In memory of the shooting of „Deprivation,“ Karatbars designed a special card for each of the main cast. I had been working in the financial industry for years, and worked with every conceivable form of investment, things like building loan contracts and life insurance, etc. During that time, I realized that all of these investments lost value in the medium or long term, or lost buying power by the time they were paid out. With gold, it is just the opposite. It is one of the few investments that reliably maintain their buying power. This is why our small gold bars, whether as a Classic Gold Card or in a gift item, are so popular and in demand. How have those two product segments (bars and gift items) developed since the company was founded? Karatbars has experienced enormous

Every company or private person can design their own individual card, which we then manufacture. This is possible for small quantities – even single cards. something to do with “security”, or is it? No, it is definitely no coincidence. Throughout my career, it has always been very important to me to completely stand behind the things I did. To help people get ahead, to give them security, was always my motivation. So it was never just about the money, it was and still is all about other values – values like friendship, respect, and appreciation, which to me are the most important things in life next to health, love, and freedom. If you live by these principles in your personal as well as professional life, you’ll always find yourself on the road to success. I am sure of this, because I experienced it myself. You have done something that most of us can only dream of: virtually “instant” success, bringing you millions in turnover in the space of a few months. Is there a key to your success – and would you share it with us? JI’d love to. But first, let me say that I am enormously grateful for my success in the past. My career up to now has been a process, a process of learning and developing, and it had its ups and downs. But about that key ... perhaps you know the following situation; I personally know it only too well: you have an idea, you are absolutely on fire for it, and so you go and tell

your friends about it. But almost every one of them has some argument that supposedly speaks against your idea and supposedly proves that it can never work. As a result, you may begin to have doubts – and eventually you drop it. And that exactly is the big mistake. If you don’t make that mistake, I believe you hold the key to success in your hands. When I have an idea, it immediately starts to take shape before my mind’s eye. I can already see the reality of it, so I know that I can trust my vision and have to hold on to it. In my experience, it is only a matter of time until the vision becomes reality and you reach your goal. To me that means: Dream every day, express your wishes. Then go for your goals – with an iron will, with ambition, and most of all with passion! You have been self-employed all of your professional life; in fact you founded a network marketing company at the age of 22. Do you feel that you were born for self-employment and entrepreneurship? They say you have to be born to this kind of thing. I think that’s wrong! You can learn anything. And all kidding aside: I wouldn’t wish it on anybody to have to hire me as an employee. It just would not work, not anymore. Back then, I started my own

What I’m trying to say is this: When you do something with passion, you “earn“ not only your success, but incredible joy that immeasurably enriches your whole life, makes you “rich” all the way around. Is network marketing or direct sales exactly your thing – or could you imagine another type of business? No, at the moment I can’t imagine anything else, because as long as I am working on one project, no other business exists for me. The reason: this one project needs and deserves my full attention, so it can develop its full potential. That, too, is one of the rules of successful people: always focus on one thing only, because energy can only flow freely with 100 percent commitment. You are a dyed-in-the-wool Elvis fan, and had quite a reputation around your home town of Gerlingen as an Elvis impersonator at the tender age of 16. How is that hobby doing today? Do you still perform? Can we book you, for instance for a party in 2015 for your 10-year Netcoo anniversary? Like you said: it’s a hobby, it’s how I relax, and yet, I do this with a passion too. I only perform very occasionally, sometimes after a

meeting, but when I do, I give it my all. I don’t take bookings anymore, but if you invite me to the party and it fits my schedule...why not...it’s a good idea... How do you picture the future of Karatbars? And your personal future? Surely you have plans... Oh yes, lots of plans, some medium and some long-term. For instance, I am going to buy a 5,000 sqm property with office space, production hall and storage space in Stuttgart, our headquarters, and unite our administration and production under one roof.
