IT FITS YOU PERFECTLY
The plate on the back of the double shoulder features connection holes for Anton Bauer and Sony IDX type batteries as well as several 1/4 and 3/8 screw holes and slots for our unique stainless steel counter-balance weights. The comfortable padding takes the shape of your shoulders and prevents blood stream blocking. Adjustments are completely instant and tool free.
The front and back adjustment on the shoulder mount makes it possible to fine tune the balance of the rig on shoulders. The shoulder curve and distances are all calculated perfectly to give you the best comfort.
THE HEALTH RISKS OF CONSISTENTLY CARRYING UNBALANCED CAMERA RIGS ON YOUR BODY Working consistently with an unbalanced shoulder rig for the camera operators can be a source of considerable pain. Some cameraman, in fact, suffer with severe pain, deteriorating posture, and are at risk for spinal deformity and other repetitive stress injuries to the shoulders and upper extremities due to their unbalanced camera rigs. These problems result from changes in the normal anatomical structure caused by the unbalanced weight on the shoulder and weak
muscular support. Camera operators tend to lean on their sides in order to make the load of the camera closer to their spines and this abnormal posture will possibly put pressure on an area of the upper body even more than acceptable rates. When this occurs, a bundle of nerves and blood vessels can become compressed and cause pain and discomfort down the upper extremities.
the normal curve of the upper and mid-back region but will potentially also cause severe low back pain and in the long run it may leave permanent distortions on your spine.
Consistently carrying camera equipment on shoulder not only can cause a reduction in
IMPORTANT EXPLANATION ABOUT WHY SOME UNBALANCED RIGS ARE STILL CALLED AS “BALANCED” In order to avoid any stress, pain, short mid or long term structural deformation on your spine when carrying loads of camera equipment, the centre of gravity of the load should be as close as possible to your spinal cord. In the classic way of camera carrying, the load is usually concentrated on just the single side of spinal cord and this causes an unbalanced weight carrying experience. So far this was the only method in the world to carry camera equipment on body and even though it has unbalanced, unhealthy features as
explained previously, it is still called as “balanced” which causes lots of misleading. The main reason why some camera rigs are labelled as “balanced” even though they were not, was because they at least managed to achieve front to back balance on the body by attaching counter balance weights on the backside of the camera. This approach does not help to relieve the stress on the spine (in fact it increases it) but at least it helps the arms to carry less load and hence longitude the stamina of them drastically. However usage of such “balanced” setups
for long durations of times consistently causes extreme stress and pain on the spinal cord and the only way to overcome this is to introduce the side to side balance in addition to the front and back balance to the camera rig design. This has just been recently possible with edelkrone®. And it is now possible to carry the camera load on body in total balance. This new advancement is the one and only true key aspect of achieving healthy camera operation.
BECOME THE CENTER OF ACTION
in depth features
With this design the counterbalance weights are on the opposite side. This is how cross balancing is made possible. You will be right in the center of action. Stability increases, pans and tilts becames magically fluid.
IT’S LIKE CARRYING A BACKPACK
True-Balance system distributes the weight evenly on both shoulders. This way you prevent the risks of injuries that may be caused by the consistent carrying of the heavy camera equipment on your body. You will not get tired as easily and this will extend the amount of uninterrupted working time you will have.
