The House The residence was built in around 1765, with the interior upgraded in the Regency style by the Senhouse family in the 1820s. Superb period features remain throughout, including fine Georgian sash windows with shutters, lime plaster and panelled walls and antique cast iron radiators. In recent years the property has been professionally modernised and sympathetically restored, including re-roofing, improved insulation and high specification river defences. The handsome front entrance leads into the entrance hall with Cumbrian oak flooring and archway leading to the original staircase with oak balustrade. Off the hallway are three opulent reception rooms, presently serving as a drawing room, formal dining room and a study. The beautifully restored drawing room and study both have real gold leaf plasterwork niches and Georgian period Carron cast iron fireplaces, with an antique Italian marble fireplace in the dining room.
