Travelling from Penrith to Cockermouth on the A66. As you are approaching, go straight over the first roundabout. At the next roundabout take the second left. At the next roundabout ( by the petrol station) take the 1st exit towards Egremont. Stay on this road until you reach a turning on the left (just past the Lamplugh Village Hall) signed for Kirkland and Ennerdale. Stay on this road through Kirkland and Ennerdale Bridge. After leaving Ennerdale you will come to a cattle grid. Cross it and stay on the road until you see a postbox on the left (about 1½ miles from Ennerdale). After the postbox take the first turning on the left that is on a sharp right hand bend. Stay on the this tarmac lane to the end, then turn left by Cathow and Croft Brow farms. Follow the track round to the right and stay on the track past the reservoir down to the sheep pens. Then take the tarmac lane to the left that will bring you directly to the house.
