EXECUTIVE SUMMARY EDFAN is a group of companies with a mission to be “a high quality benchmark in the building industry.” EDFAN began in Argentina and after achieving a strong base in South America settled in Spain and Brazil continuing its international expansion and achieving over 60 licenses in more than 20 countries in: America, Europe and Asia.
HISTORY History Being originally a Civil Engineering company, we started our specialization in technical flooring systems in the early nineties with polished concrete projects. We identified this opportunity by observing how interior designers were adopting this “Continuous Cement Coatings” concept historically used for parking lots - into more value-added projects as hotels, restaurants, shops, houses and lofts. Over the years and always with the aim of offering innovating solutions, we were the first company to developed stamped concrete (IMPRETON) in Argentina, growing to become a benchmark in the premium concretes market. Working on this demanding up-market sector and offering trendy solutions for interior designs drove us to achieve a high level of technical specialization. We had to develop innovating operational systems in order to guarantee optimum results to match the segments standards. This situation became the starting point of our present business configuration based on Research and Development (R+D) of new systems, expansion through Licensing and Know-How transfer.
TODAY Today By the year 2.000 with the arrival of the financial crisis in Argentina, traditional construction was completely stopped affecting considerably our business. Within this difficult context, our R+D department worked on the development of a product concept which would allow us to keep offering our Premium Continuous Cement Coatings, but operationally optimized for a fast refurbishment, working on a mill metric thickness in order to cover the existing substrates with no need of previous removal or demolition.
The main difference between Polished Concrete and MicroCemento is that the first one is done in the traditional way (Cement Mixer & Power Trowel) and has a minimum thickness of 5 cms. MicroCemento instead has only 2 mm thickness and it is handicraft applied with a hand trowel tool. We have developed this Product Concept from zero more than two decades ago with such a success that the market has adopted our trade mark (MicroCemento) turning it into a New Product Category for these particular continuous cement coverings. What was at first developed like a substitute system to Polished Concrete today is being specified in projects as a product with its own personality which has opened the door to a strong competition.
In EDFAN we are proud to state we are the company which invented “MicroCemento” Product Category, and as a proof of this reality we own the domain www.microcemento.com – www.microcement.com. So far we have certified over 3.000.000 sqm worldwide and we count with the most developed formulation and technically evolved product in the market.
R+D COMPROMISE Our compromise with R+D has been a clear target from the start and we kept on developing other innovative systems. Nowadays the EDFAN Network counts on different range of products all within the same concept: “Continuity, Minimum Thickness & No Removal”

TECHNICAL TRAINING & KNOW-HOW TRANSFER Partner’s technical training is the key to a successful project. EDFAN will provide to its Network a complete dedicated training program on the installation of all our systems. Identifying base types and preparing them for proper installations is an important issue to be considered in order to guarantee quality due that we work on a mill metric thickness.
TECHNICAL SUPPORT & CONSULTING We offer permanent technical support (by phone calls, e-mails, video conference) for our Official EDFAN Network. OPERATIONALLY EFFICIENT SYSTEMS EDFAN Systems does not require of considerable investments in tools and hardware. All our systems are designed to be installed manually and in a very simple way using just 4 basic tools: HAND TROWEL - MANUAL MIXER - VACUUM CLEANER - FLOOR POLISHER.

No joints or gaskets needed, therefore, one can achieve continuous surfaces and it is combinable with other materials such as wood, ceramic, etc. You can give vertical-horizontal continuity to environments both on floors and walls (gaskets not required).
Advantages & possibilities - Fast Installation: Up to 50 m2 per day with just two installers. - Fast transit release: Just a few days. - No need of removal: In most cases it can be placed over existent floors and walls. - Clean work: Being placed manually, it does not produce the amount of dirt traditional constructions do. Just some dust. - Does not require joints: Allows making continuous coating with no need of cuts. - Merging: With other materials such as marble, wood, ceramic, etc. - Minimum Thickness: Just 1/2 mm thick. - Finishing: With sandpaper, achieving a smooth finishing. - Minimum maintenance: Humid rag and wax.

MicroBeton is a cement based coating of 2 to 3 mm thickness. Suitable for commercial and residential, for both interior and exterior use.
Concept CONCEPT
Same concept as MicroCemento but with a more rustic finish, similar to Polished Concrete. Its formulation has bigger aggregates allowing to work with thicker coats. Specially prescribed for commercial High Traffic areas, also used exterior for being less slippery when wet. It´s common to make interior installations with MicroCemento in continuity with exteriors done with MicroBeton changing the material, keeping the same color.

There are two types of NEOBETON. The C and the R type. The C type is a cement paste of one coat of 3 to 5 mm thickness with a granite look and polished finish. The R type is composed of a PieDrex base (4 mm thick) and a MicroBeton surface coat also with polished finish.
Concept
CONCEPT Both types are for interior and exterior floorings. It’s most common uses are on highly resistant decorative flooring and polished finishes. It is recommended uses are shopping centers, small industries and hotels among other high traffic areas.small industries and hotels among other high traffic places.
