location: Santurce, Puerto Rico The evolution of the office space over the years has evolved due to the necessities of every generation. Today’s current working modalities varies from the typical office space, to working on your home, cafe (cyber cafe) and the new coworking space. But there’s a new creative class that has been forgotten and unattended known as " urban nomads " which is defined as a population of programmers, designers, writers and others working largely from their laptops that sometimes still require physical ability to print, “Scan" and meet with a person. If the city offers: Schools, food, housing, collective transportation, workplaces and leisure spaces, but it does not provide a accessible spaces to mobility where this nomadic population of Urban Nomads can connect their mobile devices to the internet. In response to people who work with their wireless devices ubiquitously a series of spaces adapted with the infrastructure for nomadic work must arise in the urban context. Understanding the urban circumstances of Santure, Puerto Rico known for being the most dense and populating area of San Juan. Santurce Hub, (the proposed space ) will consolidated the existing typical office elements (seating area, meeting, copy room, wireless and cafe ) with the necessary urban office elements (shelter, collective transportation, fast in-and out mobility). The project location is an empty sidewall lot with an area of 21,323 sq. ft that connects from Ave. Ponce de Leon to the Rexach Street. The building will served as a urban pathway in the urban context, the first level would be the public space with dinning areas, restaurant, leisure spaces and seminaries spaces, modular commercial spaces, main plaza, and back plaza, the public spaces serves as interaction and networking areas for young entrepreneurs. The second and third level would be the public-private spaces in this levels the working modality of coworking would be the main focus, also contains quiet places, a terrace and meeting rooms and a Work-Playground. The fourth level is the more diverse space in the building because it involves different areas from coworking space, communal areas and private offices that adjust to the people needs. These needs are attended in spaces like the flexible space divider (interior brisoleis), which are metal color space dividers that can be manually assemble depending on the office layout needed. Another space is the flexible furniture, which is a desk/storage/space divider module that can transform a space from a office, to a conference space. The structure of this building is a open space with a simple steel column and beam with a composite concrete steel deck, which let’s this space change used in the future. The economic sustainability in this project was a design guided that varies from natural ventilation patios, sun shades, curtain walls, green walls and solar panels.

AARP Headquarters location: Santurce, Puerto Rico Right know Puerto Rico is facing one of the biggest economic crisis in history, this had an impact on the younger population to leave in search for better opportunities. So in respond to this exodus there would be a population 50 years and older that would be unattended as they grow older. So in response this project aims to the rehabilitation of Santurce through a transit-oriented development that introduces the elderly population to a livable urban environment. One of the urban strategies was to accommodate to their needs by locating the aging population in an urban context rather than isolated them in rural areas. In a more urban context the have a numerous resources in a walking distant, places, public transportation and an active inner-city. The complex accommodates the AARP headquarters combined with 65 elderly living units, due to building regulation and site dimensions, the demands between the two programs: elderly housing and office building; mandates a separation of programs. The proposal scheme design puts together two individual buildings in the same the site, both connecting with their own private cores and sharing a parking lot. The strategy was to place the apartment facing a second demand street and the office building facing the main avenues due to more activities in this areas, both building separated by a main patio.

ACSA Steel Competition location: Hato Rey, Puerto Rico A culinary art regards the preparation of food as well as the skillful creation of image and taste. Grounded on the role the chef, overly, perceive simply as a cook, people ignoring the fact that cooking is a creative as well as an artistic role. The chef overly conceptualized the notion of cooking as an artistic practice in which embodies meaningful and symbolic ingredients. Similar to the creative process of image making on a plate, our project attempts to focus on cooking as a deeply social activity enhance by the location of its pieces, proportions and formal composition. The building is located in San Juan Puerto Rico, in the financial district of Hato Rey, commonly know as the â&#x20AC;&#x153;Milla de Oroâ&#x20AC;? or golden mile. The sites interact with two of the most important avenues of the area, Ave. Ponce de Leon and Ave. Munoz Rivera. The train station and the bus stops next to the site provide easy access to the project. Since the financial district is a condense area, pedestrians will flow through the Culinary Art College using its facilities. Numerous visual lines regulate both the setting and the formal aspects of the project thought two main lines define a visual access from the train station, while the other defines the relationship to Ponce de Leon Avenue. One responds from the visual that one gets from the exit of the train station and the other one responding the visual line parallel to Ave. Ponce de Leon. The building is a two story volume that contains: kitchens, wine room, bake shop, demonstration lab and restaurant on the first floor, while containing the administration area, classrooms, student lounge, library and Lecture Hall.The learning process start at the kitchens this exposes student to the cooking realm while improving their cooking and exposing to new ways to interact with the food.Since the Building narrates the process of cooking education, a green garden in the upper level was place to give more emphasis in the circulation of the building. This green garden response to the negative areas on the building explained earlier. This giant trellis on top of the visiting subject is used to grow different types of crops for the use of the kitchens and the restaurant. The most public part of the building kitchen, restaurant and bakeshop conform in the first floor.

Concept

The design intervention is to propose a path-way for the external subject to see the entire process of the cooking student during his teachings until he reatches the final product of the restaurant.

The building desing was based on negative and positive parts on a plate. Creating a metaphore that the building is the positive space and the negative space being the area that the subject uses to walk around the structure.

Miramar mira la mar location: Santurce, Puerto Rico The Project setting takes place in Santurce, Know for being one of the most congestion and populated of all the districts in the capital (san Juan). Studying the existing models of transportation collective and private, the new urban strategy aims to design a train/bus route that has a positive impact n the urban fabric/context. The location of the new proposes route eliminates an existing road and creates a new urban configuration and subdivision into a new sector that serves as a development of a new waterfront with different scales of housing development, new waterfront and future business developments. The main goal is to connect the different sectors: Miramar, Isla Grande and Hoare, through a public path that serves as a catalyst which main program is a public park, with different sport complex. The new waterfront rehabilitates the space with different recreational elements such as parks, swimming pools, pedestrian bridges and day/night commercial activity.

The new proposed train transportation route, acts as a catalyst to a sector that has been forgotten in the urban context. Other than using the two main Avenues: Ponce de Leon and Fernandez Juncos, the proposal creates an alternative route that connects the Miramar sector, Hoare sector with the Puerto Rico Convention Center District for future development of this Waterfront. - San Juan, Puerto Rico

The location of the main site that serves as a development of a new waterfront rehabilitation with simple drawn a new Configuration of the existent urban context. The new urban configuration would have different scales of housing development, new waterfront and future business developments. The main space is a landscape/park/connector that serves as the threshold to links the different sectors.

425 Bulding Signage location: object The purpose of this project focus on rethinking, how can the signage be incorporated in a appropriate way to the project 425 composition, located on the street corner of calle and calle Norzagaray, Old San Juan. The way in which the acrylic panels were used around the periphery as a front, was an essential part of the park, the program target two users: Children (day ) and Cinema (night). The used of a pulley system through lanes allows the sliding panels on the façade to open onto the calle Norzagaray. This project explores the name ( Architectural nickname) design two techniques, first as through technological advances can redesign a new medium ( with relief) in this case a pipe system using as material “PVC” are tied up to a support structure. The second finding is explored as architectural nickname to the composition of the building. This was incorporated through the reuse of acrylic panels and positioning the name on top, being understood the name and the as one piece composition.

TrĂpctico location: object The Tripcticco change the stereotype of the cutting board. It represents an ergonomic culinary piece that creates a symbiotic relationship between FOOD preparation, serving, and presenttion. The main focus of the design was, how can one change the logistics of a cutting board and create a multifunctional and aesthetically pleasing culinary object that attends different tasks in the kitchen area. Del Huerto a la Cocina Location: Condado, Puerto Rico The task was to design an outdoor gardening furniture for Cocina Abierta a restaurant located in Condado, Puerto Rico. The proposal took place in the lateral void patio of the restaurant, the strategy was to design a gardening area that could supply the restaurant demands and served as an comfortable ambience. The projects aims to find the potentials of this specific, a simple modular furniture that could be ready-to-assemble. The design incorporated a circular 3/4â&#x20AC;? aluminium metal sheet divided into four pieces, perforated areound all the borders. Each model is made up of four metal sheets assemebly together in 2â&#x20AC;? tubular metal tubes. The metal sheets are welded to the tubular tubes, each model has a perforated metal sheet basket that serves as a planter so the crops can grow. The design follow the existing atmosphere and estehetics that the restaurant composed, so the vibrant color yellow which is the main color of the restaurant palette took part also in our project. Also to contrast with the vibrant yellow, the dark black was chosen to make thei appearance adjustable to the atmosphere that alredy existed.

dos equis location: object Growing up in a tropical Island in the Caribbean we are exposed to beautiful examples of Spanish Colonial and modern Caribbean architecture. In recent years, the tile industry in Puerto Rico has seen a revival of traditional designs and a new wave of tile design. This projects aims to design my own hydraulic mosaic tile knows as â&#x20AC;&#x153;losa criollaâ&#x20AC;?, with basic geometrical patterns, the design incorporated vibrant tropical colors and two different pattern modules.

a.re.ca Location: Santurce, Puerto Rico This proposal receive a Honorable Mention in the competition, “Esculturas para sembrar un Árbol en CBA” in San Juan, Puerto Rico.The Competition consisted in designing a sculpture to be installed in the main plaza (public space) of the Centro de Bellas Artes located in San Juan, Puerto Rico. The propose sculpture itself is an abstraction of the textures found in the “cocotero” palm tree, indigenous to the Caribbean islands. It is a homage to the Caribbean lifestyle; the sun, the beaches and the flora itself. The sculpture serves as a skin, whose design comes from the abstraction of the palm rings, in which it surfaces creates a texture of lights and shades. The form generates from a triangular modular, that assembles into triangular rings to simulate the growth of the palm tree.

Cut Triangle location: object The main focus of this project was to design a mold casting for a concrete tile so that it could be produce in mass production, to develop it as a product. The mold was assembly by two patterns, in which one was a set of 2 triangles and the other 3 triangles,the product would function as a concete tile pattern.

Floral modular location: object The Floral Modular seems like the typical toddler furniture, but it represents an ergonomic and adequate scale piece that creates a symbiotic relationship between seating, playing, and storage. The main focus of the design was, how can one create a multifunctional and aesthetically pleasing furniture for kids to interact as a toy. The formality of the object comes from the silhouette of a flower, the object transforms when its opens and closed.
