Rep. Pulong eyes creation of P10-B fund for indigent cancer patients

Davao City First District Representative Paolo “Pulong” Duterte and two other legislators have proposed for the creation of a P10 billion fund for indigent cancer patients.

In a press statement, Duterte, along with Benguet Rep. Eric Yap and ACT-CIS Partylist Rep. Edvic Yap, said their proposal outlined in the House Bill (HB) 7687 aims to strengthen the existing cancer assistance fund mandated under the National Integrated Cancer Control Act (Republic Act 11215).

The proponents pointed out that despite the enactment of RA 11215 and the creation of this assistance fund, cancer patients from low-income households continue to bear the financial burden of their medical care and treatment.
