Felcris Centrale:
CHANGING DAVAO’S REAL ESTATE LANDSCAPE T
ODAY marks another milestone in the real estate business here in Davao City as homegrown Felcris Hotels and Resorts Corporation holds its blessing and inauguration for Felcris Centrale. Nestled in a 5.9-hectate lot along Quimpo Boulevard in Barangay Bucana, Felcris Centrale is a major project of the Yap family, who committed to invest around P5 billion for the entire project. Felcris Centrale boasts of a 12-storey commercial complex with a 10-floor office space and a two-level retail and entertainment center complete with supermarket, boutiques, restaurants and shops. The project covers more than 54,000 square meters of floor area. After this afternoon’s event, Felcris Centrale will have its grand opening tomorrow, February 18. What makes Felcris Centrale one dynamic project is its accessibility
to neighboring business establishments, government offices and residential areas. The flagship project was made possible after Felcris Hotels and Resorts Corporation was incorporated to engage in real-estate development in 2012. The Yap family also pioneered the convenience store industry in Davao by establishing the Davao Central Convenience Store, Inc. back in 1997. The City Tourism Operation’s Office lauded the Yap family for building Felcris Centrale. “We congratulate Felcris Centrale , its owners and management for opening another homegrown brand that is sure to be known internationally as it will add options to the retail and entertainment scene,” CTOO head Lisette Marques said. “But, most of all, another site for BPO locators which Davao is known for,” Marques added.

Davao’s economy booming: Aquino D
AVAO CITY is at the center of an economic boom brought about by the growth of Mindanao’s agriculture, tourism, services, and manufacturing sectors.
President Benigno Aquino himself has touted the city’s growth, anchoring it on the rest of the island-region’s performance. In a speech during the Philippine Business for Social Progress (PBSP) meeting and launch of the Mindanao Inclusive Agribusiness Program last September at SMX Davao, the President spoke highly of Mindanao’s “great potential.” “Mindanao is our country’s top source of rubber, cacao, pineapple, banana, coffee, and coconut. Over 40 percent of our food supply and more than 30 percent of the produce we trade domestically come from Mindanao – not to mention its strong contribution to our fisheries production,” he told the more than 500 business leaders who attended the meeting. “Most important of all, however, is the fact that Mindanao has a people
determined to succeed,” he added. The people’s determination – often despite great odds that would have defeated those with fainter hearts – has meant great things for Mindanao in general and Davao City in particular. Davao City, in fact, was named fourth most competitive city in the country in the 2014 National Competitiveness Council (NCC)’s Cities and Municipalities Competitiveness Index (CMCI) released middle of last year. And with the phenomenal growth, the city’s landscape is starting to change rapidly. Over the last two decades it has seen more and more development in many areas, and its citizens are reaping the benefits of investments that have pushed the economy higher and given the people more buying power with their hardearned income.

HE Yap family was hailed for building Felcris Centrale, the latest addition to the ever-growing real estate development in Davao City. Davao City Tourism Operations Office (CTO) chief Lissette Marques said Felcris Centrale is one project Davao can be proud because of its distinct style from other malls. “We congratulate Felcris Centrale , its owners and management for opening another homegrown brand that is sure to be known internationally as it will add options to the retail and entertainment scene,” Marques said. “But, most of all, another site for BPO locators which Davao is known for.” Felcris Cenrale, a major development project of homegrown Felcris Hotels and Resorts Corporation, will have its blessing and inauguration this afternoon. The grand opening of the project, which sits on a 5.9-hectare lot along Quimpo Boulevard in Barangay Bucana, will be tomorrow,
February 18. Davao City Chamber of Commerce and Industry Inc. (DCCCII) president Antonio dela Cruz also lauded the management of Felcris Centrale for constructing the mall. “We congratulate the Felcris Group for their grand opening of Felcris Quimpo,” Dela Cruz said. “This is a manifestation of their trust and confidence to the city government. Marques said the completion of Felcris Central also means new job opportunities for the people of Davao City. “We see that the architectural design is something unique and reflective of Davao icons, as the Yap family is helping slowly changing Davao City’s skyline,” the CTOO head said. “We expect that this new entrant will support new job opportunities, new innovation and a venue for homegrown brands to make it big like the Felcris brand,” she added.
