SWaM Business Spotlight: Service Glass Industries, Inc.
Service Glass Industries, a small business located in Frederick, MD, is providing exterior glass and glazing on the project.
Our team is committed to maximizing participation by small-, women-, and minority-owned firms on the project. As part of our intentional procurement strategy, in addition to encouraging SWaM-certified firms to bid on work, we identify firms who may be eligible for certification and help guide them through the process. This spring Clark successfully assisted its exterior glass and glazing subcontractor, Service Glass Industries, to achieve SWaM certification, helping the overall project significantly exceed its participation goal while setting up Service Glass for success on future projects in Virginia.
“Clark was instrumental in encouraging Service Glass to pursue our small business certification. Previously, we were under the impression that we would not qualify. We believe that this will position us to help our partners attain their participation requirements on future projects as we often represent a significant percentage of the overall contract value.”
Service Glass was founded in 1969, and since its inception has strived to provide its customers with the highest level of service and attention to detail. One thing the team is most excited about on the Fuse project is the opportunity to install a wide range of products on one building. From an in-house unitized window wall, to a custom unitized curtainwall supporting a custom sunshade featuring solar panels, Service Glass’s work will bring the building’s iconic facade to life. The team looks forward to installing glass panels over the next several months and delivering this one-of-a-kind innovation building to the Rosslyn-Ballston Corridor.
