Just like the psalmist who wrote, “I believed it, so I said it,” we say what we believe.”
As followers of Jesus Christ we have to often believed the lies and accusations of the enemy and the world. Often times, due to ignorance of what God has said through His Word, we willingly disbelieve God’s truth based on our “feelings” and what others say about is or past experiences. The truth is, we do not need to “feel” anything! God’s truth is God’s truth. “Let God be true and every man a liar.” (Romans 3:4 ) We need to learn who we are in and through Jesus Christ and then, as a discipline, confess the same out loud. We are who God says that we are regardless of how we feel about ourself. Our feelings, what others say, what the enemy says, cannot change the absolute truth of God’s word. Therefore, we need to see ourselves in the light of His word. Once we have heard and seen God’s truth we are to, in faith, believe that it is so and speak it out! “From now on, think of it this way: Sin speaks a dead language that means nothing to you; God speaks your mother tongue, and you hang on every word. You are dead to sin and alive to God. That’s what Jesus did.” – Romans 6:11 The words “Think of it this way” mean “logizomai” in Greek, which means to calculate, count it up, logically sum it up as so. Sum up what God says as true and leave the rest. Remember: 1) You are called by Christ. 2) Through Christ you are able. 3) You are complete in Christ.
