Accommodation University Flats - summer
Private Households
Standard Flats These 4-5 person flats offer single bedroom accommodation on a fully self-catering basis. Students receive fresh bed linen at the start of their stay and are responsible for keeping the flat clean. Flats are serviced at the end of each course.
Accommodation in private households is available all year round; however demand is high for this type of accommodation from July to September.
Serviced Flats These 4-5 person flats offer both single and twin bedroom accommodation with shared bathroom facilities. Bed linen is changed regularly and the flats are cleaned weekly.
We use only hosts who enjoy sharing their home with paying guests and who will make our students welcome. Households are carefully selected to suit individual needs and are inspected regularly by our staff. Our hosts can be families with children, young professionals or retired people.
Breakfast is included in the price and selfcatering facilities are available in each flat. Students in the en-suite flats may be able to obtain lunch and dinner at an additional cost.
Accommodation is normally booked for the period of the course registration. If you intend to stay in Edinburgh for a long time and want to arrange your own accommodation, we can make an initial three-week booking in a private household to give you time to do this.
Please see the separate summary table.
Points to note:
The following features are common in all University flats:
• Single rooms (unless otherwise requested) • Maximum of two students per household • No two students of the same mother
A very limited number of serviced flats have the option of en-suite facilities.
