“National Beat Poetry Festival (NBPF) and “International Beat Poetry Festival (IBPF), and “Kerouac Cafe”. While we continue to preserve the writings of the “Beat Generation”, we strive to keep evolving to create a new “Beat Generation” of Poets, Writers, Artists & Musicians. We are dedicated to hosting, collaborating, and fostering joint partnerships for “Beat” themed poetry readings, workshops, plays, radio shows, locally, across the United States, and Worldwide. The National Beat Poetry Festival was started in 2008 by Colin Haskins, celebrating its ten year anniversary, (2008-2018) Beat Poetry is poetry that has no conventional form. It is the epitome of free verse, and style. It is individual expression of ones own ideas on love, life, and the world, unencumbered by traditional rules.The National Beat Poetry Foundation, Inc. supports the further development and exposure of non-traditional poetry from people of all ages and backgrounds within communities where interest is significant and/or where interest needs support. The Beat Generation’s significant writings and history of its original prime movers lives on from its inception in the early 1940’s, and its legacy continues today by way of new writers, poets, artists, and musicians of disparate influences and means of expression. The NBPF, Inc. is committed to not only supporting venues in existence, but also in developing new venues where cultural preservation and the works of new artists can show yesterday meeting the living voices of today. NBPF, Inc. activities promote literacy and open exchange dialogue which incorporates the Beat history and art at its base, to break boundaries and bridge cultures with new thought, ideas, and free expression. Jack Kerouac, the founder of the Beat Generation said it best. Beat Poetry is sympathetic and pure. It gives a voice to everyone. It is free verse using your own form, your own rules, to express your own ideas on love, life, and the world.

BENGT O BJÖRKLUND The artist, journalist, photographer, poet, musician and editor Bengt O Björklund was born in Stockholm 1949. In 1968 he landed in jail in Istanbul for $ 20 worth of hash and met a bunch of international artists, poets and musicians. It was then he embarked on his artistic voyage as well as learning to cook, do yoga and generally get a life. The source of his inspiration in Turkey was his Japanese friend, the artist Koji Morrishita and the Italian artist, poet, and Dadaist Antonio Rasile. The character Erich in the movie Midnight Express is based on Bengt. Bengt has published 8 books of poetry, three are written in English. Bengt was recently awarded a Sweden Beat Poet Laureate by the National Beat Poetry Foundation Inc. Sweden Beat Poet Laureate Lifetime!

Chris Vannoy The Rest Of It
RAYN ROBERTS Robert Ryan (c.1951 -), also known as Tom Neale, is an English author, journalist and screenwriter. Born in Liverpool, he moved to London to study natural sciences at university and began his writing career in the late 1980s for The Face, Arena and the US edition of GQ, and then Sunday Times. Ryan published his first novel, Underdogs, in 1999 and collaborated with jazz trumpeter Guy Barker on an extended version of a piece called Underdogs, based on the novel. As of 2010, he published eleven more novels and was working on a novel due for release in 2011.[1] His most successful and acclaimed novels as of 2010 are Death on the Ice, which was praised and recommended by the Antarctic Heritage Trust, and Empire of Sand, inspired by David Lean’s Lawrence of Arabia, to end the book where the film begins. He is also known for his Morning, Noon and Night series of books, Early One Morning (2002), The Blue Noon (2003), Night Crossing (2004), and After Midnight (2005),[2] and for the Vince Piper series he wrote under the pseudonym Tom Neale: Steel Rain (2005) and Copper Kiss (2006).[3] Most of his novels are set in historical wars, such as World War I and World War II.

DENNIS RENFORS “Dennis Renfors, born in Finland in 1949, has lived almost all his life in Sweden. He is a singer/songwriter and Spoken Word artist, and had two poetry books published by Baxter Daniels Ink Press/International Word Bank in Los Angeles. Those books are called “Kiss Lara Anytime” (2015) and “Fried Egg Philosophy” (2018).
