Golf Marathon
Playing for a Cause!
Golf Central Magazine staff recently attended and supported the “Golf Marathon for Ovarian Cancer Research” played each year at Redtail Golf Club in Sorrento, Floirda. The day of golf was actually split into 2 groups. Marathoners that were playing as many holes as they could, based on donations for amount of holes plays, pars and birdies. Even special donations for a Hole-in-one. And a second group of players played Heads-Up Team Golf in a 4-person Scramble format.
Proceeds from the “Playing for a Cause” Golf Marathon & Events help fund potentially life-saving research for women battling gynecologic cancer at AdventHealth. Dr. Robert Holloway, Medical Director of the Gynecology Oncology Program at AdventHealth Cancer Institute, is participating in a clinical trial to help determine how immunotherapy can be used to treat women with ovarian cancer. Studies like this are critical in finding life-saving treatment options for gynecologic cancers. Your support helps bring this cutting-edge therapies to patients right here in Central Florida.
