Baha Mar – Royal Blue Golf Course
#1 Ranked Golf Course in the Bahama’s Golfweek’s Best of 2022
the front nine holes feature dramatic views of undulating fairways, rolling white sand dunes, brackish ponds and glimpses of a turquoise Atlantic Ocean. The back nine displays a very different look; players navigate stunning limestone “moonscapes” through dense jungle and steep downhill terrain to get to the island green on the 16th hole, which precariously borders Lake Cunningham, making for unique island golf. The course spans 7,189 yards, and the beauty, difficulty and challenges make the course enjoyable for golfers of all levels.
Royal Blue features a unique, single set of tees, course set up. Each morning, a member of the Golf Professional team will thoughtfully place tee locations on the course, taking weather and playing conditions into consideration, to create unique and optimal golfing experiences for guests. With freeform teeing areas rather than traditional tee pods, any one hole can change by as much as 100 yards each day. This also allows guests to play multiple variations of the course throughout their stay, while maintaining a similar overall yardage.
Royal Blue Golf Club is open to the public and resort guests, and is accessible to members of the Bahamas Golf Federation.
CaddieMaster, the premier caddie service provider in the world, servicing clients such as Augusta National Golf Club, Pebble Beach, and Pinehurst, provides an extensive fore caddie program. State of the art golf carts are also available to club guests, featuring the latest technology in GPS and customer service.
At Royal Blue Golf Club, the natural landscape is incorporated into the course’s design, leaving in place a number of indigenous tree and plant species. The area is also home to over 70 indigenous species of birds, including the Bahama Woodstar, egret, and osprey.
A local architectural firm designed the Royal Blue Clubhouse. The style features traditional Bahamian elements, colonialinspired architecture and clean, modern refinement. The clubhouse interiors were designed by Glem Shaub and Associates, and include a 1,900 sq. ft. dining room and bar, 800 sq. ft. outdoor dining space, and 1,000 sq. ft. Golf Pro Shop. The clubhouse ceilings are finished with tongue & groove cedar and blond bamboo inlay. The Golf Pro Shop was finished with walnut wood and black bamboo.
The Royal Blue Tavern seats 100 guests and serves breakfast and lunch daily, with the occasional happy hour.
The old water tower near Royal Blue’s Clubhouse known as the Cable Beach Reservoir is one of the course’s oldest historical buildings. The patio, located underneath the tower, sits on the pinnacle of the Royal Blue property and is a perfect local for drinks and snacks before and after a round of golf.
