September is a big month for the
North Florida PGA! Coming up is the NFPGA Section Championship at TPC Sawgrass! Kicking off the three-day long event is NFPGA Family Fun Night, sponsored by Glow Vibe Golf: The Ultimate Night Golfing Experience. The event will serve as the official kick-off to the Section Championship. Section Championship competitors received personal invitations to attend the event, as did the entire Section membership. The event takes place on Sunday, September 11th, and includes 18-hole glow-in-thedark miniature golf, as well as target challenges and a closest-to-the-pin competition. This fun event at TPC Sawgrass will prelude what is sure to be a memorable Championship! The Section Championship officially kicks off on Monday, September 12th. The event, which sold out in under an hour after registration opened, will feature NFPGA Members from across the Section as they battle it out for the title of Section Championship winner. All eyes will be on Greg Koch, reigning NFPGA Player of the Year and 2021 Section Championship winner, as well as David Hronek, Matt Borchert and Sandra Changkija, all of whom have had impressive showings throughout the tournament season, both in the Section and nationally. Most recently, Changkija was victorious at the Stableford Championship at Orange County National. Sandra won with a total of 95 points after two rounds of play. She also won the 2022 LPGA Professionals National Championship after a 3-hole playoff! Changkija & Stephanie Connelly-Eiswerth earned exemptions into the 2023 KPMG PGA Women’s Championship after finishing within the top 8. After the Section Championship this month, Members will be able to celebrate a successful and competitive tournament season by participating in the Pro-Scratch. The event, which is always one of the most anticipated and enjoyable of the year, will take place on September 29th at Palma Ceia Golf & Country Club. Just like the Section Championship, the field filled up quite quickly!
