Introduction

Along the lines of the teaching method of La chitarra volante, our musical journey continues with this unique new series which is aimed at youth orchestras or small guitar ensembles. Each volume is inspired by a single nation or a world region, of which our music evokes sounds, rhythms, colors, harmonies, and habits.

Designed for young guitarists, the different rhythmic and harmonic difficulties are well distributed among the various sections, in order to allow everyone to play in ensemble.

This volume is dedicated to Italian music and its main features: lyricism and well-defined melodic lines.

Mostly, Guitar 1 performs the main melodic elements, Guitar 2 counterpoint melodic elements, Guitar 3 accompaniment rhythmic cells, Guitar 4 bass movements. An acoustic or electric bass would also be necessary for the lowest frequencies. Moreover, for each song, it will be possible to use even small percussions such as sticks, clavettes, cabasa, shakers, cymbals, chimes, triangle, and so on: instruments that will enrich the ensemble’s sound.

This new series aims to enrich a world music style repertoire for a kind of instrumental ensemble that has been spreading all over the world in the last few years: charming but easy music for young musicians and non-professional orchestras. Have fun!
