PAR 4 Welcome to the Edmonton Petroleum Golf and Country Club! The opening hole is a straight forward par 4, with hazards which line both sides of the fairway Driver is an option but not necessary. A short iron into this large relatively flat green will give you a nice look at birdie. TEE

PAR 4 Use a fairway wood or hybrid and aim short of the fairway bunker. This option will leave you with a wedge in hand and a chance to attack the pin. Feeling lucky? Long hitters can drive this green if the wind is helping. Pay attention to pin position and club selection; this is one of the largest greens on the course. TEE

PAR 4 After completing two manageable par 4’s, your first true test awaits you at hole #3. Water along the right and a single fairway bunker along the left creeps in at the landing area. A ball in the middle of the fairway will leave you with a fairway wood or long iron into the green. Bogey is not a bad score. TEE

PAR 5 Bombs away! A well struck tee shot can fly the fairway bunkers. With water right and hazard left, keeping your ball in the fairway is a must. Two deep pot bunkers guard this green which makes your decision to go for the green or layup, very difficult. Finding one of these traps can turn a birdie into a bogey. TEE

PAR 3 The 1st of the par 3’s which plays slightly downhill but into a prevailing wind. Club selection is crucial on this mid-length par 3 as you need to avoid the front left bunker and the back right bunker in order to have a good chance for par. Take your 3 here and move on to the short par 4, 6th hole. TEE

PAR 4 This is a short risk-reward par 4. Driver will bring 3 deep greenside bunkers into play. The wise shot is to lay up off the tee to the 120 yard marker; leaving you with a short iron in. Control your approach as there is little room for error into this slightly elevated green.

PAR 4 The hardest hole on the outgoing nine, requires a long straight tee shot as hazards protect both sides of the fairway. Once in the fairway you will be faced with a long iron or fairway wood in. On the approach into the green it is important to aim slightly short to leave you with an uphill putt. TEE

PAR 3 What you see is what you get. Play this hole to the number and aim for the middle of the green. Guarding the right side of this are two big bunkers that can quickly bring bogey into the picture.

HOLE IN ONE & MEN’S CLOSET TO THE PIN SPONSORED BY

PAR 5 This par 5 is the longest on the course. A left to right shot started at the fairway bunkers will put you in perfect shape for your next shot. This heavily protected green makes it difficult to reach in two. If laying up, leave your third shot a comfortable distance from the green and attack the pin. TEE

MEN’S LONGEST DRIVE SPONSORED BY

PAR 4 You can let it fly on this long par 4. The fairway bunkers can be carried to leave a substantially shorter approach but the prudent play is out to the right side. Your approach is difficult as a bunker guards this large three tiered green.

MEN’S LONGEST PUTT SPONSORED BY

PAR 4 This gradual dogleg right hugs water along the entire right side; with bunkers and fescue to protect the left side. Your driver is an option here but you may be wise to hit a fairway wood or hybrid. A good approach shot requires a precise yardage into this angled green. TEE

PAR 5 This is the easiest of the par 5’s on the course. A good drive will leave a long iron/hybrid approach to a green that is guarded by water front and left and slopes back to front. If a lay-up is required, favor the right side to avoid the water that runs along the left side all the way to the green. TEE

PAR 3 This short but dangerous par 3 requires a precise club selection. The front bank is steep enough that it will feed any ball back into the hazard. Long is safe but leaves you with an incredibly difficult pitch to an elevated green. Play to the middle of the green and take your par.

LADIES CLOSEST TO THE PIN SPONSORED BY

PAR 4 A relatively short but difficult par 4 requires an accurate tee shot. Favor the left side of the fairway as a water hazard on the right comes into play around the 120 yard marker. Take aim at the center of this well protected green. Be cautious with a front pin, as the putting surface can be very slippery. TEE

PAR 3 The last of the par 3’s is a shorter hole that usually plays downwind. The bunker guarding the front right is deep and intimidating; making it easy to over club on this hole. Over this green is an automatic bogey or worse. Be sure to take the right club. TEE

PAR 4 Don’t try to overpower this long par 4, instead use a fairway wood and aim for the right edge of the right fairway bunker. Your 2nd shot will be long but just be happy you have a 2nd shot. There is room to miss this green to the left. Par on this hole is a great score! TEE

PAR 4 A big drive down the right side of the fairway will miss the bunker. Any shot at the green must navigate the large water hazard and the many strategically placed bunkers. This large threetiered green will make you think twice about your lay-up.

PAR 4 Choose wisely off this tee. Water and sand are both in play. A fairway wood or long iron may be the prudent choice. Most approach shots to the green will roll from left to right at the middle to front half of this green which does have a slight back to front slope on the back half of the putting surface. TEE
