ELEGANT TOUCH PAINTING

Spring may have been a time for cleaning, but fall and winter are great times to freshen up your home with a new paint color or a kitchen remodel. Julie Brown and Stacy Lopez of Elegant Touch Painting can help you do exactly that.
Stacy and Julie started Elegant Touch Painting in 2019 offering interior and exterior painting services as well as color consultation. Julie says that a professional paint job can benefit homeowners as well as buyers and sellers. “When you’re selling a home or purchasing a home, the first thing you see is the paint job. That’s what you see when you go into a house, the walls and the paint. I know for me, and I know for most of my clients, when you walk in and you see that somebody has done a DIY project with the paint, it can be devastating the amount of damage that people can do,” said Julie.
Julie said a professional paint job can give homes a crisp clean look that buyers, sellers, and owners will appreciate.
“It really makes a huge difference in resale. It really takes it to another level as far as just the professionalism and having clean lines, especially a lot of these houses in Edmond, you know, they’re nice, high-dollar homes,” said Julie. “Whenever somebody tries to do it themselves and you have lines all over the place or woodwork that’s painted with a paintbrush. It really can devalue the home.”
Since 2019, Elegant Touch has expanded to offer custom carpentry services as well as kitchen and bath-
room remodeling to clients in Edmond and Oklahoma City. Julie and Stacy say their ability to complete projects quickly sets them apart from other companies.
“Within the last year-and-a-half, we’ve grown into a lot of rem odels. We have specialized in the kitchen and bath remodel projects,” said Julie. “We’ve come across so many customers that have been without a kitchen for six months, eight months, while getting their kitchen remodeled. We can do the whole thing in three to four weeks. That’s getting the cabinets, all new carpentry, and all new tile.”
Stacy and Julie said they’re able to complete projects on such an efficient timeline because they do everything in house while giving input on design. For those considering a remodel, Stacy says that fall is an optimal time to begin the project.
“Really fall is a great time because the weather’s good, and I know that sounds silly, but your door is open like 90% of the time. So, in summer, your electric bill can go crazy, and in winter your electric bill can go crazy, but fall is a great time to kind of minimize the damage on that,” said Julie.
Stacy added that this is a great time of year to start scanning for 2023 color trends.
Said Stacy, “The designers and companies have started releasing their 2023 color wheels. For this fall, it’s a lot of darker, earthier tones, and then some jewel tones are being introduced. That’s kind of where we are seeing trends heading. Of course, personal choices are tailored to the customer’s tastes, but that’s what we’re seeing for this fall.”
The growth of this business has been very natural, but it may surprise some to learn that a professional painting business was not Stacy and Julie’s first idea.
“We talked about flipping houses initially because we both came from a finance background and had some experience in real estate and building,” said Stacy.

The two settled on painting and remodeling services after realizing that building a connection with their clients and seeing projects through was a motivating factor.
“We both really like the design aspect that goes into painting, like having the ability to help our customers choose colors that suit their space,” said Stacy. “We like really being able to work with customers, and with flipping homes, you’re not dealing with customers. That was an aspect of the painting business that we really were looking forward to because we both like interacting with the customers and just seeing a space transformed.” Julie and Stacy pride themselves on being personally involved with their projects and seeing them all the way through. “If you hire our company, you’ll get a professional service. When we start a job, we’re there every day all day until the job is finished,” said Julie. “You also have a crew leader that’s on your job every day. And then, you have Stacy or myself there to oversee the project. We stop by, I mean, almost every single day to check the project and make sure everything’s going well. It’s a different kind of service. There’s not another company that I know of that provides that kind of service.”
