Letter FROM THE

PUBLISHER EDMOND IS A GREAT COMMUNITY In 1932 Oklahoman Will Rogers said, “That’s one trouble with our charities, we are always saving somebody away off, when the fellow next to us ain’t eating.” He was accurate for his time and I think in many communities what he said is still true. I would suggest that our community, Edmond, is different. There has been a long-standing tradition and commitment by leaders in this community to take care of our home base. Many of the facilities, events and activities that we enjoy today in Edmond are because of the hard work and vision of our past leadership. It wasn’t always easy, but they found a way to get the job done so that generations could enjoy life in our town. This includes our parks, schools, safety and many other facilities that make Edmond a great place to live. Our yearly Calendar of Events issue shines a light on the results of many of those efforts in Edmond. Since Edmond Life & Leisure is locally owned and operated, it is natural for us to be active in Edmond. We are joined by so many other great companies and individuals. In fact, we are inspired by the many good corporate citizens in Edmond. Business owners in Edmond have long been blessed with great vision for the community and are willing to turn that vision into action.

Ray Hibbard

You will find in these pages many of the Edmond activities that require thousands of volunteer hours. Volunteers are what make these events possible and make Edmond a better place. We thank them for their efforts. We invite you to participate in many of the activities in this year’s Calendar of Events. Please shop the many advertisers in these pages because their support makes our annual Calendar of Events possible. As always, I want to thank our hard-working staff for their time and effort in putting out these pages for our community. They do this in addition to putting out our weekly newspaper. We look forward to seeing you at many of the activities and events in these pages.

Trojan Woman “There is a land of the living

and a land of the dead, and the bridge is love.” In his brutal, lusty adaptation of Euripides’ Greek tragedy, playwright Charles L. With this in mind, Central Theatre has built upon Mee’s vision, to create our own rendition. UCO – Radke Fine Arts Theatre (Center for Transformative Learning) APRIL 4 – 7, 7:30 P.M.
