I know that things have required some adjustments to our rhythms of life lately. I’m sensitive to the fact that not only has this been a disturbance of rhythm, but also a real hardship for some. Wherever your family is at right now – there is an invitation from God.
I’ve always heard the Church wasn’t a building, but rather a community of people on mission together for the Gospel – these days, I see it. God has moved us out of the building for the time being, but we are still together in the most unique way possible. The Church now, I believe is poised for a pivot in how we worship the Lord that is setting us up for revival in a way only God could orchestrate.
You see - our homes have become sacred spaces where we worship. We have an unprecedented and unique invitation to experience powerful worship services in our homes - with our children.
God keeps giving me an image of His Spirit falling upon home after home and filling families with His powerful presence like never before. The Lord told me that because we have invitation right
now to experience God powerfully in our homes/ If we respond, we will understand more about living in His
DAILY presence – and maybe even more importantly, so will our children.
I keep coming across the Deuteronomy 6 passage that says, “Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and
with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Write them on the
doorframes of your houses and on your gates.”
That’s the way we live a life for Jesus that influences our children. We live in his
daily presence and as we go about our days, we share with our kids what the Lord is speaking. As a parent, you are the most important spiritual influencer in your child’s life. Statistically, a child is more likely to have lifelong faith when the parent leads their child into a relationship with Jesus than anyone else. Don’t panic if you don’t feel like you can answer every question your child might have about faith. “I’m not sure, but let’s figure it out together,” is a powerful
statement for you to say to your child. And, I bet you know more than you think! God appointed you as your child’s parent for a time such as this. You are exactly who your child needs!

Now Mom or Dad – the invitation is for you to go fill your own soul up with the love of God so it overflows and splashes out onto your children. That will be the most powerful example they’ll ever experience of God’s love for them.
