PROJECT DATE: Abril 24 2021

Xens is a pavilion that is focused on bringing people enclosed to abstract structures. The primary goal was so that the public could have a unique interaction with abstract, distorted structures that might affect the way they see architecture. The main reason it is divided into 3 shapes was so that visitors can walk freely though different but similar forms that are arranged with facades that give a sense of motion and deformation to the human eye. Light, shadow and materially take an important place in Xens; it gives the atmosphere a sense of wonder, driving the public to explore though it all.

Programs Used-Diagramming: SketchUp / Tools: Drafting, Modeling

Xens is in a conceptual isolated sanded location. The 3 principal forms were extracted from the painting “Man With A Guitar” by Georges Braque. After having the simplest form, different iterations were made to find the optimal and best arrangement that will fit with the concept statement and surrounding area.

A drawn story board was developed before making the model to have a spatial idea of the places the visitors will experience.

Ciruclation:

The diagonal and perpendicular piece provide the best arrangement of circulation between all structures within the site.

Natural Light:

Several openings are on the east, west, and uppers sides of the structures to provide several scenarios of light and shadows to the visitors.
