Since 1988, we have been delivering courses to cater for the demands of the international marketplace. Please see the course descriptions opposite, which detail the various courses on offer at Swan Training Institute under the following headings: Classes run Monday to Friday, from 9:00 Courses to 13:00, from 14:00 to 17:00 and from (1) English Language Courses; 18.30-21.30 Intensive; ESP; Customised Courses (GEC +)

There are usually 12-15 students in English and Examination (2)General Further Education, including Vocational Training Teacher Preparation classes,and ensuring maximum Training Courses ED) attention for each(Fstudent. Students may begin any Monday (except (3) Mini-Stay Programmes, including Bank holidays) throughout the year Cultural Programmes (MS) Our General English Course aims to increase the learner’s confidence in (4) Work Experience Programmes communicating effectively in English, (WXP) while ensuring that classes are enjoyable (5) European Projects and Internship and educationally stimulating. Programmes (EP+INT) Emphasis is placed on all four language skills with a balance of language (6) Preparation for University Entrance structure and practical use (incl. our Swan/Institute of Technology, Classes run year-round and students Carlow, Foundation Course ) (FC) can begin at any time during the year. Students are assessed by both written and oral placement tests to establish their language level. We usually have a minimum of eight levels to suit all competencies from beginners to proficiency.

Staff, Accommodation and Transfers Staff

Accommodation

We are always willing to assist and advise in whatever way we can. Many of us have experience of living and working in other countries and can therefore appreciate the needs and concerns of someone living away from home.

• Our host families are located in fashionable and prestigious suburbs of Dublin. We do not provide host family accommodation in the city centre. All families are on the main bus, LUAS or DART lines. Each of our families is personally inspected by our Accommodation Officer.

Our staff members are welcoming and supportive, offering our students the reassurance of a professional and caring level of personal service.

Headed by our Director of Studies and Assistant Director of Studies, our fully qualified and enthusiastic teaching team uses the latest pedagogical methods, text-books and authentic materials, in classes of no more than 15 students, ensuring that individual progress is optimised so that students can develop their English Language skills quickly and enjoyably.

Airport Transfers

• Swan Training Institute will collect students from and deliver students to Dublin Airport. Students wishing to avail of this service are welcomed by a Swan Training Institute driver and transported directly to their accommodation. • Student can also be collected and taken to Dublin Airport for their journey home. Students will be provided with the driver’s contact details. • The transfer service can be arranged from other airports; please ask for details when you make your application.
