Introduction to Hotel and Tourism You will develop the listening, speaking, reading and writing skills required for communicating in the world of hotel and tourism. Lessons will prepare you to create a long-term project based in the hotel and tourism industry. Key Concepts of Hotel and Tourism The course is designed to introduce students to the broad range of services within the hospitality and tourism sector. Students will learn about the wide variety of jobs and
services available in the industry while examining structures and functions. Current issues in Hotel and Tourism Students will become confident in modern day hotel and tourism practices by studying current issues and methods. You will also research, identify, predict and produce reports on future trends in tourism. Fundamentals in Customer Relations You will look at several real-life case studies (including a leading hotel, theme park and coffee chain) to identify and propose solutions to flaws in customer service. The module helps students value the importance of service interactions. Event Management Students gain hands-on experience in brainstorming, planning and promoting events. Events range from volleyball tournaments, soccer tournaments, international dinners and graduation ceremonies. Food and Beverage Management Concepts are combined with examples of both personal and corporate profiles that demonstrate the core features of planning,

organization, decision making and evaluation strategies in food and beverage management. Internship/Volunteership An internship or volunteership in your chosen industry is included in the program. The placement, which takes place during your last term, can be part or full time while the duration varies per destination and company. Example: Hotels.
