EF INTENSIVE COURSE Accelerated language acquisition through intensive study. Our most popular course!

Lessons: 32 lessons/week (21h 20min) including 6 iLab sessions. (40-minute lessons) Start date: Every Monday Level: Beginner to Advanced Length: 2 to 52 weeks Online pre-course: from enrolment Online post-course: 6 months included for all Intensive English courses.

Ideal course for: Students wanting to learn a language as quickly as possible for academic or professional reasons.

Description: Make maximum progress during your stay abroad. Highly recommended for serious students who need to learn a language as quickly as possible for academic reasons. Our highly structured syllabus, comprised of 32 morning and/or afternoon lessons a week (total tuition time of 21 hours and 20 minutes), will have you speaking and writing with confidence in the least amount of time.

Details: >> 14 general language lessons >> 6 general teacher-guided lessons in iLab >> 10 special interest classes (see list of examples to the right) >> 1 lecture (double lesson)

Why is EF Intensive our most popular course? Because not only do you maximise the amount that your language skills improve, you also gain valuable time to practice with fellow students. This extra interaction enables you to communicate in a natural way, faster than on other courses, and in the process form lasting friendships. How many weeks should students enrol for an EF Intensive Course? The longer you study, the more you will improve, guaranteed. That’s why students seeking advanced language skills enrol for a minimum of 3 to 6 weeks. Keep in mind that Intensive students make progress 25 to 50% faster. A 6-week course allows most students to advance one full level of ability, and many intensive students choose to achieve greater fluency with courses of 3 months or more.

In all cases, the Enrolment Fee, Cancellation Protection fee and courier fee are non-refundable. Late cancellations should be made before 5 p.m. (Central European Time) on the Friday prior to your programme start date to avoid an additional £60 fee for any booked transfers. No refund will be granted if you arrive late to, or are absent during your programme. Students who do not show up for the programme will be charged the same fees as late cancellations. The Course Fee shown with each EF International Language Centre comprises two elements: the Tuition Fee (40%) for tuition and the Student Services Fee (60%), which includes accommodation. The Tuition Fee is fully refundable if you cancel more than 14 days prior to programme start. Additional refunds will be made from the Student Services Fee as follows: >> If you cancel 45 days or more before the start of the programme you will receive a full refund of the course fee, except for the Enrolment Fee, the Courier Fee, and the Cancellation Protection Fee and the Programme Deposit. The Programme Deposit will be refunded if your visa application is denied. >> If you cancel less than 45 days prior to departure EF will retain 40% of the Student Services Fee (max. £1000 for UK EF International Language Centres), to cover the cost of prepaid accommodation and services. For a programme of less than 12 weeks, all the tuition charges for up to four weeks, actual housing costs incurred by EF, and a maximum total of £350 for non-refundable charges including housing administration fees. For a programme of 12 weeks or more, all the tuition charges for up to six weeks, any actual housing costs incurred by EF and a maximum total of £350 for nonrefundable charges, including housing administration fees. Withdrawals after course start All withdrawals need to be made in writing to EF. If the student wishes to withdraw from their course after arrival at the centre, they must inform the EF School Director and sign a copy of the course change notification form. Refunds are made by the EF office or representative where the course fees were paid. If a student withdraws from their course after arrival at the centre, they must give their EF School Director at least four (4) weeks advance notice. They will receive a full refund for all remaining weeks after the four-week notice period. Prorated refunds will be calculated on a weekly basis. When determining the number of weeks, EF will consider a partial week the same as if a whole week were completed, provided the student was present at least one day during the scheduled week

Charges Other Than Tuition: Included in the course fee is a £265 housing administration fee, which is non-refundable. All extra costs, such as books, supplies, equipment, laboratory fees, rentals and any similar charges not included in the tuition must be clearly stated in the enrolment/application documents. Such charges are not subject to the refund computation but are limited to those materials that are distributed and attributable to the portion of the programme in which the student is enrolled. Students are bound by the terms as defined in any student housing agreements. My EF™ web service and iLab lessons All EF students receive an online account for My EF™. Any correspondence, photos and other media used on My EF™ will be considered private and EF will not accept any responsibility for such correspondence or media. Parent/s or legal guardian-/s of students under the age of majority travelling with EF give their consent for the student to use the My EF™ web service. iLab lessons are currently available at all EF International Language Centres of English. All students enrolled in an EF Intensive programme will have access to online iLab lessons upon enrolment, throughout the course and for 6 months after their course ends. Course levels Prior to departure, students must take a level placement test online in EF’s MyEF iLab to assess their language proficiency. The results will be used to place them in the correct course level at their EF centre. When an EF International Language Centre has a CLASS of five students or fewer, EF reserves the right to reduce the number of lessons per week. Special Interest Classes (SPIN classes) Examples of SPIN classes vary from one EF Centre to another and are subject to change due to availability.
