About the program On an EF Academic Year Abroad program you’ll spend six, nine or 11-months in a destination of your choice, improving your fluency in another language. You’ll enjoy a program that combines language learning with a focus on the academic subjects that matter to you. It’s the ideal way to experience a true cultural exchange as you discover the ins-and-out of a fascinating country abroad. You’ll learn in class alongside new friends from around the world, and then put your skills to the test as you live the local lifestyle – learning the language as it’s used in everyday life by the native speakers around you. Intensive language achievement Our exclusive teaching method, the EF Efekta™ Learning System, is structured to give you a fundamental understanding of your study language and enable you to use it in an academic or professional context. Our approach combines communication-based classroom learning with experienced teachers, specialized course books and interactive online lessons and activities. Career-focused studies Once you’ve gained a strong foundation of language skills, you’ll focus your studies on academic subjects in order to enhance your CV for university or career prospects. Our Special Interest Lessons (SPIN Lessons) and EF Advanced Diploma Programs allow you to personalize your course to meet your specific goals. EF’s University Preparation Abroad Program can equip you with the skills and credentials needed for guaranteed entrance to one of our partner institutions. Undertake an EF Internship or EF Volunteer Experience to gain practical communication experience necessary for the workplace. Become a citizen of the world An essential aspect of your program is discovering a different culture and country alongside students from up to 100 different nations. Explore your course destination with classmates on excursions or during group activities organized by your EF Activity Coordinator. You’ll gain confidence and speak with ease by practicing your language skills with native speakers while building an international network for life.
