EF Language Preparation Program Overview EF’s Language Preparation Program helps students meet the minimum language requirements of a University Preparation program.
Program details yy 2 to 52 weeks, starting every Monday yy 6, 9 or 11 months yy Start dates in January, April, June and September.*
EF Locations Selected EF University Preparation Abroad locations: Oxford, Cambridge, New York, Boston, San Francisco Mills, Seattle, Vancouver, Munich, Sydney and Singapore.
Language requirement yy No minimum English or German level required
Results Students who successfully complete the EF Language Preparation Program can then apply to a University Preparation Abroad program, which assures university placement.
EF University Preparation Abroad: Our programs at a glance
EF Accelerated College Degree Program (ACDP) Overview This two-phase program has 32 lessons of 40 minutes per week in phase one. Students aged 16+ who have finished Grade 10 can earn a high school diploma and an Associate’s degree in just 2 years (plus preparation time).
Program details yy Phase one: yy 32 lessons per week (40-minute lessons) of intensive English language study at an EF school yy Phase two: yy Completion of a high school diploma and associate’s degree at a partner institution
EF Locations EF Seattle. Phase two of the EF Accelerated College Degree Program is spent at one of our partner colleges – choose from Green River College and Seattle Central College in the US.
Language requirement yy 6-month program: IELTS 5.0 or TOEFL 510/62 IBT or UPIBT 45 yy 9-month program: IELTS 4.5, TOEFL 410 PBT/34 IBT or UPIBT 39 yy 11-month program: IELTS 4.0 or TOEFL 343 PBT/19 IBT or UPIBT 33
Results Complete your university studies up to one year earlier than finishing high school in your home country.
Program details yy 7 or 11 months yy Start dates in January (7 months, only for students who have completed an EF or recognised foundation programme, A levels, IB or equivalent) and August (11 months, all high school graduates)

Language requirements yy IELTS score of 5.5 or TOEFL 525 PBT/ 194 CBT/ 71 IBT, or equivalent on the free EF UPiBT test. yy Students must reach IELTS 6.0 to start stage two.
Results Program graduates gain a Certificate of Higher Education in Business and Management from the University of Westminster and are assured entry into the second year of a business related Bachelor’s degree program in the UK.
Program details yy Earn up to 30 college credits during the EF University Transition Program and enter the second year of university studies, saving a whole year of study.
Locations EF Boston and Suffolk University EF Language Preparation Programs for these locations are undertaken at EF Boston.
Language requirement yy 3 term program: 45 UPibt/B2-1 or TOEFL equivalent. 2 term program: 50 UPibt/B2-2 or TOEFL equivalent. 1 term program: 55 UPibt/B2-3 or TOEFL equivalent. Minimum GPA 2.5.
Results Guaranteed admission to bachelor’s degree program at the relevant US partner university with up to 30 credits (accelerating degree completion by saving up to one year of study).

Language requirements yy English 9-month program: IELTS score of 5.0 or TOEFL 510 PBT / 180 CBT / 64 IBT or equivalent on the EF UPiBT test. yy English 6-month program: IELTS score of 5.5 or TOEFL 525 PBT/ 194 CBT/ 71 IBT or equivalent on the EF UPiBT test. yy German: A2 (9-month), A1 (11-month)
Results Program graduates are guaranteed entry to one of our partner institutions in UK, US, Singapore and Australia or entry to a Studienkolleg admission exam course in Germany.

Language requirement yy 9-month program: IELTS 5.5 TOEFL 525 PBT/ 194 CBT/ 71 IBT or the equivalent on the free EF UPiBT test. yy 6-month program: IELTS 6.0 TOEFL 550 PBT/ 213 CBT/ 81 IBT or the equivalent on the free EF UPiBT test. For the UK, a SELT (Secure English Language Test) is required in order to obtain a visa. yy German: A2 or higher for 9 months A1 or higher for 11 months
Results Guaranteed entry into the first year of a postgraduate degree in the UK, US, Australia or Germany.
International Year 1 Overview Take this program to progress directly onto the second year of a Bachelor of Business degree in the UK. The program consists of 30 lessons per week (40-minute lessons) during the first 16 weeks followed by 27 lessons per week (40-minute lessons) during the remaining 20 weeks, plus reading and exam weeks. EF University Transition Program Overview Enables high school graduates to fast track their university degree from one of our partner universities. Earn up to 21 credits during the University Transition Program and enter the second year of university studies, saving a whole year of study.
EF University Foundation Program Overview This program of 30 or 32 lessons per week will prepare high school graduates for an international university. Students should take it to progress directly to a bachelor’s degree program.
EF Pre-Master’s, Pre-MBA & Pre-PhD Program Overview The EF Pre-Master’s & Pre-MBA Program prepares university graduates for entrance to a master’s degree or MBA program in the UK, US, Australia or Germany.

The EF Pre-PhD Program prepares university graduates for entrance to a PhD program in the UK or Germany.
