INTERNSHIPS & VOLUNTEERSHIPS Overview and Updates
ABOUT We differ in-between Internship Programs in: UK/IR, Asia/Pac, Non-English schools Volunteer Programs in: USA, Canada Available to Minimum 18 years old Upper-Intermediate level (CEFR B2) Previous work experience preferable, but not essential Mature approach Check VISA regulations with each school The intern/volunteer will achieve Documented work/volunteer experience to add to CV Contact with native speakers Experience of work culture in another country Enhanced language skills and confidence in use of the language Certificate and report Managing expectations Internships/volunteer placements are great opportunities to practice the language outside of school. They are not intended to be specialized work training opportunities. The more open students are to a variety of placements, the more successful we will be at placing them. The more specialized students’ requirements are, the less likely we are to find exactly what they want.

HOW TO BOOK /INTERNSHIPS 1. Internship program (IP) 8 to 12 weeks. Should be booked in Poseidon as IP article. Intensive course 4-8 weeks

HOW TO BOOK /VOLUNTEER PROGRAM Students’ book 8, 10 or 12 weeks on the Volunteer Program (IP). The INT article can be added to any AY program. These are on top of the course the student has already paid for. Therefore their class schedule remains unchanged when the placement begins. ILS Intensive course 4-6 weeks + Preparation
Part time Volunteer 4 -6 weeks General course 4-6 weeks
In: US, CANADA The first 50% of the IP course is Intensive and it includes Volunteer Preparation. The second 50% can drop to a General course load in necessary for scheduling purposes and it includes the Volunteership at an organization where English can be practiced in a practical setting. This means students will work and study at the same time.
