Scholarship Guide: Studying in Sweden SCHOLARSHIPS TO STUDY IN SWEDEN

SWEDISH INSTITUTE SCHOLARSHIPS FOR GLOBAL PROFESSIONALS (SISGP) The Swedish Institute Scholarships for Global Professionals (SISGP) programme is part of the Swedish government’s international awards scheme aimed at developing global leaders who will contribute to the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. It is funded by the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Sweden and administered by the Swedish Institute (SI). •

ELIGIBILITY: Applicants must have minimum of 3,000 hours of demonstrated employment and must be a citizen of a country that is eligible for the scholarship program.

AWARD: Recipients will be awarded full tuition fees directly paid to the Swedish university, living expenses of 10,000 SEK per month, a travel grant of 15,000 SEK, insurance against illness and accident, membership of the SI Network for Future Global Leaders (NFGL) – a platform to grow your network and experience, while in Sweden, and membership of the SI Alumni Network after your scholarship period – a platform for further professional development and to stay in touch.

SWEDISH INSTITUTE SCHOLARSHIPS FOR THE WESTERN BALKANS AND TURKEY FOR MASTER’S STUDIES Swedish Institute (SI) Scholarships for the Western Balkans and Turkey are open for citizens of the Western Balkans and Turkey, for master’s degree studies. However, only programmes related to a number of subject areas are prioritized. •

ELIGIBILITY: Apply for a scholarship if you are a citizen of an eligible country, have documented and relevant work experience. You must also follow the application steps of university admission, and be admitted to one of the eligible master’s programs on time.

STOCKHOLM UNIVERSITY SCHOLARSHIP SCHEME The scholarship scheme at Stockholm University is aimed at especially qualified students coming from countries outside of EU/EEA/Switzerland and who are required to pay tuition fees for studies. •

STOCKHOLM ARBITRATION SCHOLARSHIP FOR CHINA (SASC) Three full-tuition scholarships are available to Chinese law school graduates offered by three leading Swedish law firms: Gernandt and Danielsson, Mannheimer Swartling, and Vinge. •

SWEDISH ARBITRATION ASSOCIATION (SAA) SCHOLARSHIP The Swedish Arbitration Association (SAA) has donated a full-tuition scholarship for a student to participate in the Master in International Commercial Arbitration Law program (ICAL program) at Stockholm University for the academic year 2018-2019. •

LUND UNIVERSITY GLOBAL SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM As a top 100 university and ranked in the top 0.4% of universities in the world, Lund University attracts high achieving students from across the globe. The Lund University Global Scholarship program seeks to recognize these students by awarding academic excellence grants. •

THE INGVAR KAMPRAD SCHOLARSHIP The Ingvar Kamprad Scholarship was founded in 2001. The aim of the scholarship is to support two students enrolled in the Master’s degree program in Industrial Design. •

THE KING CARL GUSTAF SCHOLARSHIP •

ELIGIBILITY: This scholarship is open to citizens of Afghanistan, DR Congo, Ethiopia, India, Iraq, Libya, Mexico, Nigeria, Pakistan, Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan, Syria, Turkey and Yemen. LINNAEUS UNIVERSITY SCHOLARSHIPS Linnaeus University’s decision to award scholarships will primarily be based on the students’ academic merits. Usually this is based on the CGPA, but the ranking of the previous university and the students’ proficiency in English will also be considered. Linnaeus University also favors an even distribution of students when it comes to country of origin and gender. •

THE SIEVERT LARSSON SCHOLARSHIP The Sievert Larsson Scholarship Fund (within Friends of Chalmers) offers scholarships annually to Thai students who aim to study on a master’s program at Chalmers University of Technology. The scholarship is your chance to hone your skills with a world class master’s degree from Chalmers. •

ELIGIBILITY: This scholarship is open to citizens of Thailand who are 1st year master’s program applicants with a completed or soon to be completed (during spring semester 2018) Bachelor’s Degree (equivalent to a Swedish Kandidatexamen) with a minimum grade of 3.0 (CGPA) from a prestigious Thai University.

AWARD: Recipients will be awarded full tuition fees (4 semesters/2 year program). Another version of the scholarship allows recipients to receive 230,000 SEK for the cost of living during their studies.

SÖDERTÖRN UNIVERSITY TUITION FEE WAIVER •

ELIGIBILITY: This scholarship is open to students who are required to pay tuition fees according to the information at University Admissions who have submitted an application at universityadmissions.se for a master’s program at Södertörn University. There is no age limit for tuition fee waiver scholarship holders.

LINKÖPING UNIVERSITY INTERNATIONAL SCHOLARSHIP LiU International Scholarships are aimed at supporting international master’s degree students with significant academic potential. •

UHR SCHOLARSHIPS The University of Skövde administrates scholarships funded by the Swedish Council for Higher Education (UHR) to students liable to pay tuition fees attending a master’s program at the University. •

ELIGIBILITY: This scholarship is open to students who are required to pay tuition fees.

AWARD: Recipients will be awarded 50% of their tuition fees.

KTH INDIA SCHOLARSHIP The KTH India Scholarship Foundation was established in 2012 through a donation made by an anonymous donor and awards two scholarships each year. •

ELIGIBILITY: To be eligible for the scholarship you must be a fee-paying student and have applied for a master’s program at KTH as your first priority. You must also be an Indian citizen who has completed your undergraduate program in India.

AWARD: The scholarship covers the tuition fee.

KTH SCHOLARSHIP Each year around 30 newly admitted students are awarded the scholarship. The scholarship program has a focus on academic excellence and sustainable development, encouraging students to contribute to a more sustainable society. •

ELIGIBILITY: To be eligible for the scholarship you must be a fee-paying student and have applied for a master’s program at KTH as your first priority. Students with conditional eligibility also qualify for the scholarship.

AWARD: The KTH Scholarship covers the tuition fee at KTH for the first and the second year, provided that the study results during the first year are satisfactory. The scholarship does not include living costs.

KTH JOINT PROGRAM SCHOLARSHIP The KTH Joint Program Scholarship is available for students participating in a joint programme and covers the tuition fee for the study period spent at KTH. •

ELIGIBILITY: To be eligible for the scholarship you must be a fee-paying student and attend one or two semesters at KTH as part of one of the specified joint programs.

AWARD: The scholarship covers the tuition fee for the study period spent at KTH and does not include living costs.
