The last two years of high school in Spain are called “Bachillerato.” Most of our exchange students are placed in the first year of Spanish high school. All classes are in Spanish, and before you know it, you will be fluent in a language spoken by millions of people! Spain s pleasant climate creates excellent opportunities for you to stay active. We offer amazing area choices in Spain, where you are guaranteed to study either by the beach or close to a big city. With our partners in Spain you can join trips to the Basque Country and even go to Surf Camp in Portugal!

Canada Facts

Eligibility

• Age: 14-18 upon arrival. Must not have graduated in your home country.

• Length of Program: Academic Year, Academic Semester and Trimester. Also Multiple Year for SELECT

• Language Requirement: Recommend a minimum of 2 years of Spanish. Students applying for British school must have at least intermediate level English and pass schools’ admission tests

• Grades Accepting Students: Most students are placed in “1º Bachillerato” (grade 11 out of 12)

• GPA: C average

• Can Students Earn a Diploma: Must complete Grade 12 in Spain and pass all subjects.

• Program Start and End Date: Academic Year: Early September to Late June

- Fall Semester: Early September to Late January

- Spring Semester: Early February to Late June

Application

• Application Deadline:

- September Intake - Application due April 1

- February Intake - Application due October 1

• School Choice:

- Classic Program: You could be placed anywhere in Spain but you will have the option of choosing an area or city

- SELECT Program: You will have the option of choosing a school (Spanish or British)

• Visa Information: Students outside of the EU will need to apply for a student visa for programs over 90 days

• Trips Available: Basque Country and Surf Camp in Portugal in June at an extra cost
